Just let him eat in peace for a while so dinner hasn't become a battle! He's a baby still, momma wouldn't be messing with his meals all the time. And she would eat first. You are so worried about this you are probably creating this. If you want to reclaim the bowl, I would suggest you claim the space with your body (step in between his bowl and command him to back off. Make him down stay, take your bowl. Condition him slowly since you messed it up the first time around. Feed by hand, too. I repeat, stop making dinner a battle.

Good luck and a professional trainer can help you from making more mistakes at this crucial time in your pups development. It is much better to prevent problems than try to fix them.

Haha! Or email Ceasar and find out where he got the rubber hand. If you are afraid of this dog and need a biker's leather glove, find someone to help or even take the dog. If you are afraid of a dog that you've had since 8 wks, there's a big part of your problem.

my female was perfictly fine with me takeing her bowl but she knew i would always give it back but she allows me to take it. untill she got pregnant but thats understandable no she didnt bite me or dominate me but would growl if i touched her but she was starving with the 10 monsters she had so i just let her eat. this behavior should have bin taken care of when he was very young.

whew....first....what he is exhibiting should have been corrected the first time it happened. Now that he thinks he has the upper hand, you need to think about what you want. Is food the only thing he growls about? Why must you bother his bowl now?

4 dogs...1 male and 3 females and none have ever growled at me for anything. I can take any bowl at any time without as much as a whimper. That goes for anyone in the family..period.

BY NO MEANS I AM SCARED OF THE DOG!!!! I dont want him growling at me, thats all...

@Breetree
every meal is not a battle...I dont pat him every meal time... but when I chose to do so he does growl when I get close to his face....So please dont over dramatise it.

@Judron 55

"what he is exhibiting should have been corrected the first time it happened" hahaha what makes you think I didnt?
I actually tried different approaches since he was young... as I said I first started with a nip on the neck with "NOO"...try that did work...
then started adding more exiting food while he was eating, yet he would it but once it was gone back to the same thing...

May be I do need to call Cesar, anyone has his number ....lol

I didn't say YOU were scared. It was merely a general statement about the leather glove. I don't think you're scared, I think you lack common sense when it comes to dogs. Otherwise, you would have posted 4 months ago or stopped it yourself, 4 months ago. I haven't given you any advice. I wouldn't advise a person that has let this go on for 4 months. I think a person that let's it go on for this long, has to ask on the internet, and has wild ideas how to finally fix it, needs to seek professional help. It's not a knock on you, we've all been there. I just don't think a new handler should be utilizing the advice of people that may or may not know what the hell is going on.
