Act

I definately speak of this dog being in prey dirve.  And if you do not see that a video clip will not help you.

Leerburg sells good training videos.  I sugest that you start there.

I think my point was missed..: ).....

I love the enthusiasm and the intensity of the dog, thats all I'm saying.....I am not concerned about the dog being a showline/working line.....I saved this video in my computer long before I knew there was even a difference....lol...

VKGSD....Would you explain why this is not your type of dog..?

RLHAR...I would love to see your video...Thank you...: )

Ruger, I don't prefer dogs that work (and/or are worked) primarily in prey.  I actually prefer a dog that works more in defense than in prey.  Ideally a dog is nicely balanced but not all dogs are perfect or even close, so I prefer one that falls on the defense side than the prey side.  That comes with its own challenges (especially in a very stylized sport like SchH) but that is what I like.  I do other protection sports and protection work with my dog not just SchH where it's all about the sleeve.  I do not like a dog that is equipment focused.  I like a dog that shows courage and intensity but not necessarily a dog that looks like he's happy playing a fun game doing "protection" work.  A dog that can take a lot of heat from handler/helper.  But must be a thinking dog that naturally shows control and biddabilty during protection.  Basically a dog with a higher threshold but brings real aggression when provoked (and I mean provoked, not someone dancing around with a sleeve or tug tube).  Like I've already said multiple times, this is NOT meant to be a slam of THIS dog, but I know what I like and most dogs out there are not it.  Whether or not this dog appears "intense" depends on the eye of the beholder.  I'd have to see him really worked in defense to say whether I saw intensity in him.

VKGSD,

hat type are you into show, working or whatever indviduasl dog works best?

Whatever works best for me, trouble.  There has to be a bond there too.  Right now my GSDs are two working line and a show line.  The show line is the most like what *I* like/want, but that's a bit unfair as one working line is only 7 months, ALL prey right now but he's just a pup and not being worked seriously yet.
