Oeht & your pup look like brothers!
Here's Oeht's pedigree, his parents are Theo & Tessie, he is DM normal by parentage.

The sables go through so many changes, I was hoping someone could post a picture of an adult
that looked just like our pups when they were little!

It can vary quite a bit. When we are tracking or playing in snow/mud a lot then I trim the feathering back a little on her front legs and trim her on the sides of her belly. She doesn't look that different and it keeps mud and junk from getting caught.
Day to day shedding is not bad at all if you are used to dealing with GSD hair. About once a year they may have a shed so heavy that they appear to normal coated dogs.

I have a coat and I don't notice her tracking in a lot of snow, what I do notice though, when we walk, (which we do everyday), she gets snowballs inbetween her toes and she is the only dog that has to take frequent breaks to get them out.
