"Steve,

It's important to remember that the roach or extreme angulation gives the GSD more endurance for sheep herding and fancy show rings. Think of it as taking a utility vehicle and making it a Porsche. I think Max would be very proud of these sport car dogs."

Absolute nonsense.  Complete and utter balderdash, poppycock and any other word that fits.

I think Max is spinning in his grave at the complete muck up show and sport breeders have done
to this wonderful breed.

"And wait for it......................could this be an ugly file moment? lol. PRICELESS!!!"

My personal file is called The Freak Show.  Because that's what these idiots have been breeding,

FREAKS.

a bunch of years ago I worked at an AKC herding trial and stewarded for a while in one of the test rings. Everyone came to watch as an American Grand Victor entered the ring for his test.  The dog passed but he looked awkward....he had plenty of drive for the work but his body kept getting in the way!  Every time he got into a trot his long stride took him past the sheep, who would then switch direction and he'd have to scramble to get himself turned around.  He ended up sort of galumphing along behind the sheep.  Yeah right, THAT'S an efficient gait.

I've seen other American show lines dogs that did GREAT at herding, but they were considerably less extreme and their bodies didn't get in the way.
