Vom, Red Sable, and Mystere, please have a look at the KC's version of a correct gsd in the thread LORNAVILLE ALSATIANS. The rest of the world have got it wrong, this is the type of dog our KC want promoted as correct. Had one of these animals been BOB at Crufts they would have been singing its praises, UNBELIEVABLE.

Yup!  They want the Alsatian... they won't get rid of the name either!

Me Gran was a bit that way! You couldn't say the word GERMAN in her house, especially after her brother died in a submarine during WW2. Well. That dog looks like it's got a load in its pants...or like it's doing a bad job of push-ups

WOW! I've never seen a back that saggy before! (OF course the extreme stack does the dog no favours)  Pasterns too long, false front, low stationed, poor mask, and if that colour is natural, I'll douse the picture with ketchup, and eat it!  He looks to be upright in the front, too, but I can't decide if it's just the stack that makes him look that way. Certainly he's not quite as upright as a lot of American show dogs.

Lagos, OTOH looks like a very nice, moderate dog, with much less hind angulation than you usually see these days in German show lines.

Kinda looks like the American Showlines doesn't it.  By cracky they have lost their marbles, if they think that is an improvement!!

Great, isn't it?  To be fair, some of the "Alsatians" are better looking... less extreme anyway, but still incorrect and many (%?) have poor temperaments.  It matters not a jot to our KC, that the country of origin advocates the correct type, as does the vast majority of the world... such is their arrogance and stupidity!

by bazza on 21 March 2010 - 22:03

Yes Red Sable that is a fine example of what our KC would prefer to promote as correct, and not the dog who went BOB at Crufts. It beggers belief that they think that the rest of the world have got it wrong and this Alsatian is what is correct!!!!

Holy crap, Red Sable, that pic just makes me cringe. What a travesty.

I looked at the photo as well. He is a very handsom dog and I see NOTHING at all wrong with him or his stance!
Wish more looked like him. Congratulations to the Breeder as well!!
Very nice specimen!
