Sorry been gone so long dealing with a sick pup is vary taxing between working to pay for vets visits and dealing with a sick patient. We are sorry to say that Muri has not recovered and we decided to euthanize as soon as possible. He had a 10 day span after removal of the tainted Canidea dog food. It was like we got our dog back the first 10 days but we believe he had already had the damage done. just a small window of time before the toxins from the kidney damage destroyed all the new blood cells a driving' the all hope out of his owners. As with all kidney disease patients the outcome is the same death. Only temporary for the adopted owners always for the patient "Muri". Our baby boy will be able to run again without pain just like a 17 month old GSD should be doing his work, exercise, discipline & affection. Better for Muri worse for his proud parents the way it has to be. Ya, can do blood transfusion, IV fluids & all the BS the vets can sell you outcome still the same guaranteed. No he'll get the food he likes with the pepsit AC & Alum. Hydroxide. a burger now and some ice cream too. He looks forward to eating NOW. Anyone who wishes to believe that Canidae dog is safe heed our warnings!!! Not today maybe not tomorrow but we believe YOU will deal with this problem or pancreatitias, liver damage or all the other insane things that producers of the pretty packaged consumable poison for our pets. The dog food industry that feed vets through you & I. We certainly appreciate all positive support and information that this board has offered our family and hope to be invited back when we decide to adopt another GSD (and we will have a GSD). We will check back if anyone need help and surely offer any assistance with the knowledge that we have gained over the years of raising our GSD's.
Thank You & God Bless You and You Beloved Companions

R.I.P. Muri. So sorry to hear of your loss. What a long hard month you have endured. You are not alone in your pain.

I know that it has been almost a year since these messages were posted. I am co-owner of a 3 year old Golden Retriever, Peyton. Recently we noticed that her tongue was purple! She is very allergy prone and we had changed her diet about a month earlier and also put her on a supplement for her immune system to try to keep her from chewing her feet.
Our Vet was stumped when she saw the tongue discoloration. Peyton had no other symptoms and was actually running in a flyball tournament when we noticed it. The only thing that she had was what seemed to be a Urinary tract infection 2 weeks before which was treated with antibiotics and went away as fast as it appeared.
Well, I did what I always do and started surfing the net trying to find answers. I found these messages about Muri and bells and whistle went off!!! We took her off the new diet and the supplement and her tongue was normal in about 36 to 48 hours!
I just wanted to let you know how sorry I am that you lost Muri and say thank you for making your stuggles public. I know that our Golden is probably not the only dog you have helped.
