I am not that familiar with your sport, so, my comments may be way off here.
My question is about the dog, I believe Basco, guarding the gray thing.
It seems to me that all that excessive barking is a big waste of energy.
Unless it is a limitation of the sound quality on the video camera, it appears to me to be a bunch of high-pitched, prey barking, and frankly, quite annoying. A dog that is guarding something for "real" would only bark when it really feels that its object is going to be taken away, not when a person is standing 10-15 feet away. The bark would be a much lower sounding, guttural bark that serves as a warning and would come more from defense, not, prey. Again, I am not that familiar with this sport, so, any explanation is welcomed.
Thanks!

Oh, almost forgot, you should put, "Jeffy", on the back of your shirt like Jimmy did!

Change your mindset. There is nothing "real" in what I am doing. Not for one second is anything real.
If it was real, the dog would never ever guard a basket, and would get punked off of everything he had by a human, as I would be "real" and hit the dog with a shovel and kill or maim it.
What you are looking at is the anticipation of the bite, and the fact that GSD's cannot keep their stupid mouths shut if they are frustrated. LOL
For me, I don't care what the bark sounds like. I don't like the fact that either of them are barking, just do the job, which is to bite the guy when he is close enough to do so without leaving the object.
So, I guess that is a really long way of saying that there is no "real". I am not a small person. I am old, and fat, but if I wanted to take your money and all you have is a dog, then I have your dog and your money. There is no real. Dogs run for the hills in "real" life. If a dog was "real" the first time you corrected it hard it would light you up 6 ways to Sunday.
God I hate that word. : )

I had a t-shirt once that said Cryuff on the back. People made fun of me for having a shirt with someone else's name on it. I don't think "Jeffy" would be something that would go on a t-shirt that I would wear. Too hard to spell correctly. HA HA !

Real-ly?

So we are in agreement about the excessive barking. That's why I asked.
Thank you for the explanation about the anticipation of the bite. Makes better sense.
As for hard corrections on dogs, I know a few that will light someone up six ways to Sunday.
I can even have one sent to you from Germany. He's put his owner in the hospital twice.
I can get you a good deal on him. You might need two or three people with shovels, though.

If he was "real" he would have done so right away, not because the owner caused it, as most of that crap is caused by the owner.
I don't need a dog that is all screwed up from Germany.
There was no excessive barking. There is just barking or not barking.
Do you train dogs for anything ? I heard you were Jenni's BF at one time, or was that someone else ?

What aprox does a dog like that cost, the one in Germany?
Interesting discussion. Jeff is right there is nothing "real" about it. However I almost want Jeff to attack one of my dogs with a shovel for multipple reasons. For one it would be no great loss LOL and two Jeff might just be surprised. I give even odds. LMAO
