Steve1 - This is the second dog that  bubbabooboo feels was robbed and had points deducted unfairly.  Please give us your opinion of judging (based on a National selection or World level) of this V scored routine by one of the judges.  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f8RWfwlhgVQ

"Dwight McKnight was robbed of his spot by Caputo and Sean O'Kane should not have made the team.  An 18 point spread between West and Caputo for McKnight"

This ought to be interesting! I was thinking Bubba had an ax to grind, myself.
I can't wait to hear Steve1's unbiased opinion. I have no doubt he is the best choice for this task.
Someone please find that video!

(...edited... just saw the prior post.... here is the YouTube video for you....)

Schznd .. give Steve1 a link to O'Kanes protection as well as he got bonus points from Caputo which only three people did and all were USCA.

BOOBOO. Did she deserve a 78? Since I'm not a judge and wasn't personally on the field judging I guess I can't say for sure. Although I had her a bit higher at 81pts. No where near a high SG.

Folks have fun re-hashing things none of us can change. I'm out.

Steve1 .. please see T. Floyd protection and Frans Slaman protection from USCA ..  both got 4 and 5 bonus points above West's scores for a total of ten points above West for USCA competitors in protection while WDA participants were given 63 points less in protection by Caputo than by West.  That is ten points or five points final average score in protection difference.  Most important was the IPO standard followed by either West or Caputo or did either or both stray from the standard for IPO judging.

Ramgsd .. what were Krista's deductions for??  If an opinion of no value if based on the IPO standard then give the deductions.

Thank you for the videos links but it is the one of Miss Krista that i am interested in; However i did look at the first video that of the fellow named Dwight. i do not know if he made the team i have not looked but here is the scores i gave him based on what i could see and the reason i deducted the points
Heeling lost 2 points? reason dog not sharp enough and at times leaning a little, but postioning fairly good.
Sit Lost 1 point , Reason he sat too slow and not sharp enough
Stan or probably Stand it may be called over in the USA     Good
Block work worth 40 points Lost 3 points   Reason Dog retrieved okay but was on each occasion pushing block into the mid rift of the handler, So not a clean excecise.
Sendaway; Good
When excercise was finished the dog had to be told 2 times to come to the SIT postition    Lost 1 point

Total points given  93 points

I realise that i can be shot down but these are the scores i think the Dog deserved; I will add the handler could have stood up straighter and moved with a little more with enthusiasim. but that,s me being Picky

Steve1 has offered to give a third opinion on the WUSV qualifier protection routines so if you have links here is a chance to end the controversy but he needs to see them all to evaluate the judging fairness.  Was West judging too high but uniformly or was Caputo judging too low and especially the WDA participants.  Links to all participants protection videos will give all an opinion from an outsider.

Thanks Steve1 ,, numbers and reasoning .. much better than opinions .. thanks!  Your scoring matched Caputo and West gave 96.  Protection was where the big differences were though.

For the Protection of Dwight this is how i see it right or wrong my opinion only
Running the Blinds Came out of the blinds too wide and missed a blind. Barking or guarding in the blind bark weak and not great
Lost 5 points

Escape Firstly the heeling throughout was not good, the dog was forging ahead of the handler. on the attack the bite was not so convincing did not look hard enough plus it was too slow to release. Also when Guarding the helper the dog was moving around the helper and nudging the sleeve a couple of times. the Dog should Sit and Guard barking is okay but this dogs bark is not so good as it could be
The Handler should have told the Helper to step back before he moved with his dog his mistake so an additional 1 point lost
Lost 5 points + 1 for handler error so 6 points
Long Attack   The Attack was okay but the Dog did not release  on the bite fast enough and cleanly,  Lost 1 point
Plus again the handler was not helping the dog he was too lethargic and did not seem to think he was in a big competition so he was deducted 1 point
Total 87 points
