I still like the name Dingbat :) she sounds like a real trooper, just needed a little extra.

Poor little Casey Jones died yesterday and I cried like I'd had her for ten years. Well, at least she went out with a noble name (even though I called her Dingbat at home). She had a really nasty infection in one elbow, and the vet said they could put her on IV antibiotics, but that the joint would never be normal and her life wouldn't be nice. So it was the thing to do. Anyway, I can tell myself that I gave it my best shot.

Aww, I'm really sorry to hear that VM. You did give it your best shot, and that's all anyone can do. Hugs.

Vom, i am so sorry to hear this, i know this puppy had captured your heart and i think a few here. What a shocker just when you things are looking good. So sad, but you certainly gave it your best shot. How's the rest of the pack anymore photos? RIP Dingbat, Casey Jones.

Thanks, guys. I am going to get some photos of the rest of the pack today. Of course they have ten teats for ten pups, so they aren't growing as fast as dadams puppies, but they have doubled their weight in their first week. They are seriously screaming squirming little monsters (I WANT BOOB AND I WANT IT NOW!), and then all of a sudden someone throws a switch and they all pass out for a couple hours. Funny. All for one, one for all!

You and me both, Lief.

So sorry to hear about the little girl. It's a heart wrenching thing to have to do, and it's amazing how quickly we get attached to the poor ones requiring that special attention.
Rejoice in the rest of your litter, those 10 are sure to bring lots of joy! Can't wait to see updated photos!
My 4 turned two weeks old today, and we've got open eyes and the beginnings of the wobbly crawling stage...one little guy actually skittered up Carmen's back leg (while she was laying down feeding the others on her side), across her body, and off the top of her head to drop down in front of her. She cocked her head sideways in surprise, while he didn't make a peep, just curled up between her front legs and decided that was a good place to take a nap! They're definitely entertaining!!!

Aw, that is such very sad news, I'm sorry.
But the others look great, and I can't believe they are 8 days old already. Eight days sure went by slower when we were all holding our breath waiting for them to arrive. Please keep the pictures coming!
