I for one would not give up my Camera or Phone camera to anyone only over my dead body. i had my expensive Camera pinched in Sevilla and had i caught the one who pinched it he would now be having a very long rest i vowed it would never happen again regardless of what may happen afterwards

Most events have this same policy. You can't bring a broadcast quality camera to a concert or sporting event so why should this event be any different? If you want to bring in your high quality camera why don't you pay the event promoter for the right to do that? As some of the USCA folks have said recently "you should pay for what you use". Or does that only count when the cash is flowing in their direction?
