Royal Canin is a far inferior food to the Wilderness you were feeding. Try my suggestions before Royal Canin. Just read the ingredients if you don't believe me. Royal Canin is way overpriced for the ingredients.

JMO but I don't think his hips look that good to me, but just going on my experiences with OFA

CMills, did you see that he's not even 5 months old?? His hips are still developing. They look like puppy hips. Even if they were bad, it wouldn't show up now in his movement at this age, and they'd have to look 1000x worse than those hips.

@jenni-yes I saw that he is only 5 months. the OP asked for opinions, and I gave MY opinion, like everyone else did. To me they just don't look that good, even for a 5 month old. I've recently done 2 older pups too,  and they looked better than these, yet both went OFA mild HD.  I do hope the best for the OP, and the pup.

Puppies, like babies, develop differently. If this were my dog, I wouldn't sweat it until it came time to OFA. When you say older pups, you mean prelims came back mild? How old were the pups?

I happen to agree with you Cmills. I think the left side is questionable but as stated he is young so should tighten up.

I also do not agree that puppies should not be fed grain free until they are a year old. Why feed  grain at any age. Better yet go raw.

Barb, read my post please. It's clear you didn't if you were referring to me with your grain statements.

I also did not care for these hips but did not want to be the first or only to say it...... the pup is young, but I still am not impressed with the sockets or the positioning. I could be wrong because of the positioning but I do not think they will improve enough in two months for prelims for me to go ahhh I like them.

The xray is not diagnostic quality.

I xrayed two male pups, one 10 months and one 11 months, both came back OFA mild HD, and both sets xrays were better seated than this pups is.  I know he's a pup, but I've never seen one that improves any, if at all. I've been doing this over 30 years too, so have seen more than my share xrays.
