I always prepare my dog's food in the garage and have a kitchen area. I don't let the dogs in while I do it, but last night my GSD snuck in unseen and stole a huge big parsnip from the veggie box! I saw her munching on something in the garden and when I got closer I saw she was thoroughly enjoying crunching on a parsnip. I have never fed them to her before but I think I might mulch them up a few times with the carrots she has so they are digestible. In the veggie box were a whole load of carrots too but she ignored them - it's better for her to chomp on a parsnip as it won't stain her teeth with carotene.
