1 st xray, best guess OFA preliminary fair to good. Positioning is not symetrical, could be due to another problem like a TV
2nd xray, best guess unilateral moderate HD, right side. Subluxation, remodeling.

Ipoguy and Elkoorr, the x-ray is marked wrong as it is the right hip that is lax. Ipoguy, yes, her pelvis is rotated, the bitch does this every time we x-ray her. If you look at my previous post you'll note that in her first x-ray. We think it is just the way this bitch is physically. One thing no one has mentioned is her right knee, the laxity that is there, what do you make of that Ipoguy? My Vet said it is caused by the hip, or could it just be a insignifigant finding?

IMO the knee looks that way because of how she's positioned.

I think "Fair" on both. Good luck though, keep striving for perfection. Nan

I think the knee apparent laxity is also probably just rotation, and/or the way the are stressing the knee to maintain position. It would require physical exam to be certain but that is what it seems to me.

the xray is not marked wrong-----it is flipped over. we are looking thru the back side of it.
sometimes, when i am not sure of whether the positioning is a bit off or if the dog actually has a problem,
i will look more closely to muscle development to see if the dog is favoring one side over the other or if
one side is more developed than the other - overuse. this is very telling if there is any weakness or if
the dog is experiencing pain. there definately is something going on here. the dog's right side is quite
a lot more developed than the left. especially so for a dog this young. you might expect to see this much
variation in an older dog. the key to keep this dog sound is balance. if you allow the right side to con-
tinue to dominate the dog's movement, you will develop further problems down the road. i am especially
concerned for the spine. i am almost thinking the dog might benefit from a trip to a k9 chiropractor. nip it
in the bud, before it gets any worse. while the dog's hips don't really look that bad, i am more concerned
over the imbalance in muscle development. sending well wishes.

Look at the pelvis. It is deformed in such a way that it is putting more weight on the one side (hence the larger muscles). I think the real issue here is the pelvis, not the hips. My guess is she had an injury as a puppy or possibly an unseen TV is twisting the pelvis.

There is definitely a difference in the musculature Ziegenfarm, that is the reason we x-rayed her the first time. My Vet did give her a chiropractic adjustment that first day as well. I'm going to see if he will give her another adjustment and/or accupuncture.
