I signed the petition and also e-mailed the rescue board with my offer to take this dog in for foster or my own rescue/rehome.  I have not received a response.  I hope they will at least take the offers they are getting to take this dog off their hands into consideration.

This is ridiculous, one dumb decision after another. This shouldnt even be an issue because none of this should ever even have happened..... How are these people even approved to foster?? Seriously..
Anyway, I have signed and passed it in to those in my area. Hopefully it all works out well

ALEX WAS SCHEDULED TO DIE TODAY.  There has been a reprieve of sorts, but Anne Arundal County Animal Control has not been very nice to those that have tried to intercede to save this dog that was put in so many unfair circumstances.

PLEASE...email the members of the '"rescue"
organizations (see above for a list, you can cut and paste it into the recipient portion of your email)!!!  Also email the County Executive jleopold@aacounty.org
to let him know the world is watching how they treat an animal that was put in so many untenable situations after being dragged from California and put through surgery and confronted by aggressive dogs all at the hads of his "rescuers."

TIME IS RUNNING OUT.

There is a candelight vigil if you are living near Arundal County, see the facebook page.

Was there an administrative hearing already?  If so, who attended it to defend the dog?

Based on the info on Alex's FB page (kindly shared by Keith), it looks like Alex is safe for now, but his fate is yet to be determined. Someone is trying to set up a fund for Alex's "defense". I am still baffled at how a rescue group could allow something like this to happen.

Can everyone at least email both the board of the rescue group (I posted their emails above), EMAIL the County Executive at  jleopold@aacounty.org  and call the Board of Appeals at (410) 222-1119 a and animal control at (410) 222-8900 and post on their facebook page  http://www.facebook.com/AACAnimalControljleopold@aacounty.org

None of that costs any money, but just a moment in time to let them know we are watching.

This wont be a favorable response but everyone is condemming the rescue on the act of this one dog. As a previous rescue owner you do  the best you can for the dog. Remember we really dont know what happened because like everything else, people spin a story to plead for their cause. I agree that on the surface it looks bad but the only person who really knows what happened is the foster person.  Most foster people Ive dealt with have limited experience. Its so hard these days to even find people to sign up to be a foster person. The truth is this person made a horrible mistake and I dont about you guys but I do make them myself.

LA County has a HUGE turn over of shepherds and most dont make it out. The rescued cared enough to get the dog out and get the dog to them. And a bite is a bite. Ive answered pleas from this board offering to help out because what was typed from the poster seemed that the dog could be worked with. Then as more information comes to light, which was left out of the original posting, I have to rethink taking the dog in. The bottom line for any rescue is a lawsuit. I know dogs at the shelter that should have never left and had the shelter been HONEST with me from the beginning the dog would have not be rescued.

I hate to see stories like this because everyone jumps the bandwagon for the dogs side. I agree that there are rescues that really dont have any business taking in dogs if they dont have experience. Ive dealt with more than my share of them. But this rescue has been around for awhile and I for one would want to know the facts of the case from the rescue itself before trying to slam their name.
