Once I know more (the questions above) I might suggest different brands of probiotics/enzymes, Total-Biotics/Total-Enzymes looks good a lot of FCU, good ingredients, a lot of strains though, you can get 2 small containers to try and it has L-Glutamine. Hopefully you have Tylan, or it can be bought online without an RX for around $45 and she wont have to be on antibiotics for the rest of her life like some dogs.

Yeah, EPI *could* be involved, but if preventing her from stool-eating solves the random diarrhea problem, then it's most likely caused by the stool eating.  I'm in the camp w/DogisGood re behavioral quirk most likely the result of punishment when the triad of dog:poop:person comes about, especially since it sounds like she's flat out *frantic* about it and can beat you to the scoop.

Has she got decent toy or food drive?  If so, consider distracting her with either item as she's finishing up, with lots of + reinforcement for giving your her attention instead of the poop.  She may never get completely over it, but you can probably get the situation to improve with time.

Dunno what's causing it, but here's how you stop it in a dog this frantic and determined to eat stool: http://www.k-9designs.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&products_id=89

she was in a kennel envornment before she came here actuly the kennel owner was relocateing and had to have all their females in crates as his kennels are being built. so i took her in so she would be out of a kennel her poo is brown she was being fed eagle brand but she has bin switched to TOTW which is what all of my dogs are on, she will have solid logs then eat them a few mins later she will have the diahrea and then the continued affect she eats her food but dosent gulp it down like shes starving but dosent hesatate eather. her coat isnt in the best of shape currently but its not horrid i have bin looking into getting probiotics for my dogs but i have never bin able to choose a good kind as my one female gets infections commonly and has to be on antibiotics. she has tons of drive and is being worked for her bh i have tryed with her tug to get her attention and sometimes it works others not food bait has worked alittle better its just a pain in the butt the breeder was certain i have giardia in my yard but i have had this house for 20 years and never had a sick dog in my yard and we dont normaly have too much bird traffic and my 6 month old puppy isnt sick so im doubting that because her stool will be solid and it is only runny after she eats it. currently we have her in a 10 by 10 kennel in my garage most of the time as she is in heat i have found lineing the concrete with newspaper she eats it 90% less and i can throw paper over it as she is poopin and it has worked to our advantage so far. but she is very ADHD for a shepherd but she is the first show line i have bin around i have only had working lines but i think thisis more the dog its self on the adhd her focus heeling is ok but remembering the word sitz is like pulling teeth with her shes over all a very kind dog but very tiny for a shepherd imo these where taken of her this last week

Good luck, She is pretty she looks a lot like a bitch I got this year, I went to buy a male and Nala was so adorable I had them throw her in on the deal.  I have always had the wl shepherds also, her mother is imported show lines and her father imported working.  I call her my pocket shepherd, have to admit it is nice to have one in the house that "fits" better and when she knocks over my 22 month old daughter she doesn't send her flying halfway across the kitchen like the other guys do. LOL

So, what is happening with this dog ? Still eating it ? I didn't really get how she could not be blocked off the poop. Drag her ass off and tie her to something and then go pick it up. : P Pretty simple don't you think ?????

Sounds like Pancreaotic Enzyme Disorder. I have a male with the same thing. It took numerous test. He now eats fine due to the medicine he is receiving. But he does have occasional flare ups but are really rare. He has put on some weight also. Good Luck.

My pup had cocidia when we got him from the breeder, he did the same thing..... it took weeks to break his habit but once he stopped eatting his stool he got better.
