Maybe I'll have to take that back. While Bomber has 105 breedings listed at win-SiS-CAT.com (and more, unlisted yet) his recent breeding activity has really slowed down. At working-dog.eu his latest litters have been less frequent and smaller, if not with completely barren results (0/1, 3/6, 0/0, 0/0, 3/5, 3/0). He's now age 5, and his peak number of breedings was 7 for the month of December 2009, which was the same month I first took notice of how amazingly overbred he seemed to be (in my personal opinion).

It,s about quality not quantity.
It would be interesting to be able to tabulate trial scores and titled off spring and track how many off spring were used as working studs and working brood bitch,s.
Those numbers would be more impressive to gauge there contributions to the breed.

Bob -
That's one of the questions I wonder about when I see a stud with a high number of progeny.
What did he contribute to the breed?

The win-sis-cat.com web site has some good info. Thanks.

clc29:
I know for several years Troll vom Haus Milinda had a large # of progeny in the WUSV competitions (but i,m a Troll V.H.M fan). I would think you would also have to discern between working line dogs and todays current show line dogs and there contributions to a working breed of dog. Every one will have there own Idea of what a"contribution"is.
It,s all speculative but good conversation fodder.
Another good question would be what Kennels (to date) have contributed the most to the working line GSD.
