Understood I wont try that again.  I get the picture.  There is no way however that he thought it was me, this I'm sure of.

Ace,

I am not hurt by your unkindly words and do forgive you.  Please all have a great Memorial Day weekend.

Todd,

Im not trying to hurt you at all.  I am just being honest with you.  What you did was just flat out dumb.  I would say I am harsh on you but in your last post, you STILL think you dog didn't know who you were?!!?  You really think that this 1.5 year old dog doesn't know who you are b/c you covered your face & had on a jacket???  Seriously!?!?.

This is silly & comical.

You are kinda insulting your dog....well not "kinda" but rather you are.
I see you are you forgetting about how good a dog's nose is
You said your dog isn't scared of anything but looks like you scared him off.

Never repeat this story to anyone again.

You, are an idiot.

Hmmmm Todd,
That was a very stupid thing to do.  If your dog didn't know it was you he has some olfactory problems.  I can almost certainly guarantee the dog knew it was you and was freaked out by you acting like a killer clown.

Todd:

At 1.5 years and 9 month old in my opinion they don,t need to see alot of hard suspicion or defense put to them there really still very juvenile in mind. When I received my male from Belgium the breeder asked if I had any questions which I did and asked and his final words in the conversation were" This dog doesn't need to see any real defense work till he is atleast two years old and matured" his thoughts were that in the USA we seem to be preoccupied with defense and "hard dogs" when there probably already having every thing they need to do the work unless we rush the crap out of them.
Keep up the Schutzhund work and when there older find a PP trainer and work with them ,for the dog,s sake.

                                                                          Bob

P.S.

Take your wife to a good tactical shooting range and get her some lessons on handling a fire arm, thats money well spent.

I would recommend you put on ladies clothing and deer piss next time. Make it real and jump through a window. OR, better yet, borrow some money from a friend and don't repay it. Sleep with his wife and when he asks for the money, tell him it's in the mail. Send him her panties and I'm sure he'll be right over to test the dogs.

Ace has a point... in doing PPD work the helper builds the dog's confidence, and encourages them.  Until a dog is mature, and stable enough to take some pressure (such as lunging @ them).  Putting too much threat on a dog who is young or still learning can damage their confidence.

I was showing a very young dog in conformation, when the woman judge came up to her and grabbed her by the  cheeks and hauled her around towards  her while she towered over her.  Not even enough warning for me to stop her. She didn't offer a hand, nor speak to the dog, just hauled her almost off her feet.  Val was only 7 months old (7-9 months is a fragil time for many shepheherds).  It took me over a year of going to classes, and taking her out to meet a zillion people to undo. the damage that was done that day.  (yes folks I know , she was a Show line dog, and didn't have the hard nerves that I prefer... If someone had done it to Ikon he'd have kindly removed their nose!)
