Rember the rescues are full to the brim with people breeding so they can have a pup or give pups to family members, not every person is the perfect owner.
No need to neuter your lad unless you are haveing problems, i have had full males it's up to you not to let him breed if he is not breed worthy.
Hip/Elbows , Hemophilia tested, take him to a local Sch club and have him acessed for working ability, and if he has potential start working him. do all this befor you start thinking about putting him to stud, also rember some dogs can change after being used at stud
Most of all enjoy your dog

Is this your first experience with a GSD?. The problem with expert advise here is that a Ex is a has been and a spert is a drip under pressure. But I do applaud you for ateast inquiring.
Keep looking for knowledge it,s out there.Take the time to learn from it then make your decisions based on your experience. Good luck with the dog.
