Am I mocking the concept of a dog's service to mankind as it gives it life?

I don't want to think about it if the dog is one I don't love.

My dog's life is worth more to me than the life of a human stranger, definitely.

I find it interesting that even with all of the technology we have on hand in this day that there are still a few things that properly breed and well trained dogs can do that other wise would go undetected.

I do not ask that you care about any person one way or the other and in reality, there probably won't come a time in your life where you have to choose between your beloved companion and military personnel. I have respect for those who serve their country, person or animal, at home or in another country. Do not worry, no one expects strangers to shed tears for our fallen service men, women or canines because their loved ones who are left behind shed enough tears

I am sure that the person who is lucky to work with their dog, whether a military person or a police officer has the same love and respect for their dog, that you do for your dog. Who knows, they may have an even closer bond because the need to be in tune to one another could be a matter of life and death, I do not know that, I am just putting it out there for thought. I respect those people and their canines too much to spout off about how I love my dog too much to allow him to risk his life for strangers.

Clee,

I wouldnt pay it much more mind.  In my profession this is wat we call "attention getting behavior"

I dont see it any thing more than that.

Why else would someone restate the same thing numerous times, other than to ruffle feathers.

High desert gsd, My gosh!  How terribly sad that there are those in this country that feel hugging their dog is more important than contributing to the end of one of our nations most evil enemies.

I thank God that you were not around or influenced the thinking in the survival of our country in past wars.  Listen to how selfish, self centered narcistic your thinking is.  Hugging your dog makes YOU feel good and as long as YOU (the center of the universe) feels good, the hell with justice, freedom and the preservation of our country.

I need to stop now cause quite honestly, this breaks my heart to read this kind of stuff on this board, and I need to go puke.

High desert,
Your dog is safe, don't worry.  I have seen the dogs they select, and some of their training.  It is highly unlikely they would want your dog.  Those dogs are outstanding and what they do is unbelievable.  Those dogs have saved many Seals and soldiers lives.

So give your dog a hug, I'm sure your dog does a great job as your pet.

"Which would a normal human being care more, a dog you hug just about every day or an American in the military you hear about?"

Sumpin' wrong with you.

I shed tears every time i hear of a fallen hero weather it be human or Canine, i thank god when he keeps them safe, Clee thank your husband and all his fellow colleagues for the work they do keeping all us civilians (sp) safe, so we can enjoy our freedom and be allowed to stay at home and hug our canines. If ever requested to give up my guys for a worthy cause it would be hard, but knowing the lives they could save it would be a worthy cause
God bless them all and thankyou x
