What kind of "training" are you looking for?

SchH?
AKC?
Mondio?
SAR?
Personal Protection?
Companion?

Not one size fits all.....

One piece of advise is go to all the clubs in the valley & watch & meet people. lol Just because someone knows ALOT about pedigrees doesn't make them a good trainer. It means they know pedigrees ;)

Good luck

And arm chair generals like you can do what? Only arm chairs?

I was going to stay away from this thread even so there were some other "funny" statements about me . But remione1, you succeded, you  got a rise from me by what was one of the dumber statements I have ever  read about myself;).

So according to you person who knows pedigrees can do only that, pedigrees,  and  not  anything else. FYI I have trained dogs for 44 years, professionally 30 years.  7 years part time, rest full time.  I have literally worked with or supervised training of thousands of dogs all over the world.  Even person who makes feeble minded statements like you do, would learn to train dogs a little in that period of a time handling and training so many dogs. Training dogs is not difficult so even you  ,just like I, could learn a lot in such a period of time while working with so many dogs.

I bet you, as far as dog training goes,  I have forgotten more then you will ever learn.

LOL Hans I wasn't trying "to get a rise out of you" I could really care less about you ;) It was advise to the topic starter & more towards the people that would blindly praise so much & send people to you (or anybody for that matter) for training with out really seeing them train. I believe Ace952 had it right but everbody else pretty much went off what they know about you from here. I have no doubt you know alot about dogs, pedigrees, & probably training. I've heard your name around town. What I said wasn't a knock towards you ;)

Now with that said you did kinda go at me with no clue about me. I am new to training, only about a year. Never said I know more than you but I'm not an "arm chair quarterback" I have a pup & another one coming in may. So that was a little uncalled for. I mean you don't even know me. I'm not one to bash anybody on here or in person, even people who only a couple yrs ago sent there dogs to Jesse Reese & Rod Proctor to get trained. I mean thats just not me. So please re-read what I wrote & take it as it is. Advise to the topic starter ;)

Remione1, this is NOT an attack, I will merely tell you why I personally suggested that the op contact Hans. I read the forums often and this is a tough group of people, they don't have issue with chewing you up and spitting out the bones if they think you're wrong, inexperienced or just plain stupid. I have off and on come on and read posts and notice A. how Hans responds and addresses people and B. how the long time posters respond and address him. Even when someone disagrees with him there tends to be a level of respect. IMO after looking at his website, I came away with the thought that he respects the whole human/dog relationship on a level that was deep and often not shared by people openly. I did not suggest the op should train with Hans, I have no idea what Hans is willing to do with someone as far as training or taking on new people or even if they are close in location. I merely stated that if the op contacted Hans he might lead him/her in a reliable direction. I believe you meant well as did everyone who made a suggestion on here, Jennifer Lee

If you are not arm chair general, then I am sorry that I have assumed that. However if you "could not care less about me" then please do not publicly insinuate that I do not know how to train dogs and know only pedigrees. I am a public figure and am not hiding my identity here or anywhere. I have nothing to hide. But because I am not hiding behind a handle name I am compelled to defend myself from time to time. There are few fighting words which flip my switch and insinuations that I do not know how to train dogs are amongst them.

As far as another jab from you goes, letting Rod Proctor train one of my dogs  obedience? ( From your knowledge of that fact is obvious that you know who I am more then you claim. ) Yes that is true. I have many people from now and then training my dogs. So what? I have at any given time 25 -40 dogs and day has only 24 hr. Rod is my friend and an excellent trainer and I am and never will be beyond learning form excellent dog trainers and someone like my friend Rod. Besides I do not care much for sport, especially SchH, even so I have ended second in PSA nationals in, I believe in 2005, in California and put a PSA title on another dog which I got as a green but promising youngster. His name was Fox. I have done it because I like PSA as only worth while sport for me to consider and because I wanted to shut up people who say that I have never put a sport title on a dog or do not know how to train one. My main domain are working dogs and people who love them. I love to help people have better relationship with their dogs. I also train dogs for Police, Security, S&R, handicaped's support dogs, behavioral modification and understanding between a dog and owner is may passion and I make myself available to help others in this understanding, I train dogs for family and personal protection and obedience. I train and consult on detection training.

detection training. I consult for PDs all over the USA and in other countries if they run into problems and on basic training methods. Recently we started to conduct (seems like very popular) seminars for people who care for and love old style Czech dogs and behavioral modification and problem solving in working dogs.  I love and my passion is not sport but working dog per se  as it was originally intended. I want to preserve the now rare commodity of workability shown by some lines of  Czech GSDs which I was the first one to import into USA and many other countries.

FYI Jessy Reese never train a dog for me. Not directly anyway.

I wish you a lot of luck with training of your dog.
