I like short coupled dogs. I do not like a lot of angulation however. Supposedly some people say that the more efficient the flying trot of the GSD then the less energy he will expend while tending sheep all day long. I say fine as long as that does not affect the ability of the dog to do any other tasks he may be asked to do.

Wolves often travel 40 miles in a day. If I were looking for a dog that could trot all day long, I'd look for one that was structured like a wolf, not some humpbacked freak!

JMO, of course....

Bazza, so you think wolves are ugly, eh? LOLOLOL!!!!

Get a life!

As you well know it was your comment about humpbacked freaks, that normally causes you to follow with the ugly file. WOLVES??? Some are beautiful some not so pretty, that answer your question my little oil painting??

To this: (almost identical pose):

Nice looking boy! Yes, many of the working line dogs still do look pretty wolfish.

[ot] Image [img] code doesn't work on this board. To post a picture that is already on the web, click on the mountain and sun icon, and insert the URL of the .jpg into the first box that pops up. The URL MUST end in .jpg, or all you will get is a red x in a box.

To post a picture from your computer, click on the mountain/sun icon, then select 'upload'. Select 'browse', then enter the picture you want, then click 'send it to the server'. When it has finished uploading, you will be able to see how big it is, If it's too big, select a width of around 400-500. The height will adjust automatically.

To post a clickable link, click on the chain link icon in the post editing screen, and enter your URL. Hope this helps! [/ot]

Aww, thanks! I had deleted my post because it didn't work, then you went and got the pic to work for me, so I put it back otherwise the picture was out of context.

Thank you for posting the picture for me - I figured out the mountain icon but couldn't figure out how to make it smaller - now I know!

You're welcome!

And now you can make those two links clickable! In the post editing menu, look for the anchor icon. Two icons over is a globe and chain icon. Click on that, and enter your link in the box.

It's very interesting to see how very LITTLE angulation the wolf has compared to the dog. Unfortunately, the photo is copyrighted, so I can't post it here directly.
