Phil Behun

by Phil Behun on 10 November 2010 - 05:11

Look at it this way, guy from Wisconsin gets tires slashed halfway across the country in a city that gets a huge part of it's revenue from gambling (and everything that goes with it), do you think that a set of 4 slashed tires has made it to the local news?

by Betty on 10 November 2010 - 13:11

I don't think I would report slashed tires, my feeling would be the police wouldn't even want to make a report on it.

It would never cross my mind that the parking lot like most in the country is video'd.  And if it did i really wouldn't think that the police would spend the time going through the video.

Wow, my post count reset to 1.

 Phil,
The guy from Wisconsin did NOT file a police report! The guy from Wisconsin did NOT report it to Enterprise Rental, The guy from Wisconsin did not report it to the CASINO he was staying at, you know, the CASINO that has THOUSANDS of cameras, The guy from Wisconsin is full of sh*t!

I watched 7 tracks, a 93, 100, 99, were the high scores, the 100 was a dog already with an FH2 and could track in his sleep, the 99 was a good track also, I would say Carla was a little lose with the scores, but the ones I watched were consistent. The tracks were very short. It seemed Mike was probably the most fair and consistent. I did not see the missed escape bite, but I did see several dogs have some issues with the back half helper, he tended to bail a little early on some dogs. The only big thing I saw was in OBD, when a handler reset the basic position at the hurdle, which from my understanding should have been a total loss of points for the exercise,  but was given a V score.

Was at Nationals too and of course the judging was par for the course...favoritism...yes the dog missed the escape and should have lost more points but when you have the right friends......I know people get pissed when an SV Judge is brought in, but at least the judging is non biased.

AND how about the inappropriate judge commenting during the critique on how he liked how the female handlers butt moved!  OMG!  He should not be able to judge again....something has to be done about this!

Gsd21 The commment was dinging a person for handler help.  Some people do it with their feet, some do it their walk. it is a way of getting the dogs atttention.

The judge(my brother) caught it took off for handler help and made a joke about it.

He did not give anbody points he judged and had fun.

People laughed about it including the handler

I don't feel that its a bad thing to have fun while we are having trials, maybe you do.

I work with people who are sick even dying. I have found that the majority of people can benefit from a little levity in thier lives.

To me there are enough bad things and drama in our lives without manufacturing it.

Gds21

Points were lost for the extra butt movement.  It's called handler help, the judge has to point this out in a critique especially at a National event.  Some handlers swing their arms, some rattle change, some jingle their hotel keys, some wear training vest or gloves, and others shake thier butts.

You bitched about the judging last year also.  You said a Judge should have to show at a National, guess you saw Nathanial  showing this year.

Why don't you and your club host the Nationals next year, or do you just enjoy ripping the judges and the people who donate time to put on the Nationals?

by gds21 on 10 November 2010 - 20:11

I understand handler help guys, but when you refer to it as "I like to see it not here"....don't you think you need to choose your words carefully?  It shouldn't have sexual orientation to it....she was probably laughing because she couldn't believe what he was saying....I heard alot of people complaining, unfortunately, if you say something and speak your mind, it'll bite you in the ass later!

You're right, lets just show favoritism...it's fair for new people coming out and doing schutzhund to see this stuff...so the dog that missed the escape deserved the points??  Just amazing!
