You don't get it. Your original post said nothing about prices except "less than top dollar" and nothing about what kind of pup the people were looking for. Sport, active pet, PPD prospect, only working line GSD. So, shall I refer your friend to a breeder that has a nice, low drive, laid back pup, a breeder with some medium drive dogs well suited to active pets or club level dogs or should I refer them to the guy I know who has some very real civil aggressive dogs more suited to dual purpose police prospects?
Once you'd said the people's price range of $800-$1000 that narrowed kennels I'd refer you to down quite a bit and I flat out said you might have a harder time finding them a good quality pup. I moved on from prices at that point.
AND I then said But what might be a good kennel for one person would be a very poor choice for another.
Finally, you post something about these people and what they might be looking for in a pup.
Now go back and read where I wrote this Sure a good breeder can match puppies up. Every litter has pet pups and working pups. But there's still a big damn difference between working line pups bred more for active pets with proper temperament and working line dogs bred for high level sport or police work.
Vickie just pointed you to a few dogs in your friend's price range that would probably do well for them.
Check your own reading comprehension and quit assuming I have none.

I think you will find what you are looking for at Loyal Heart German Shepherd. Their website is loyheartgsd.com
I purchased my pup from them and have been very happy.

Mobjack, don't even try and come back...if you even read my latest post, which you CLEARLY didn't, you would see two blatant examples of you not quite putting your best efforts at reading for understanding. You know what less than top dollar is...having to spoonfeed you information that you could easily glean on your own is just so draining.
"AND I then said But what might be a good kennel for one person would be a very poor choice for another.

This is out of order, to suit your purpose. In my second post I wrote that they were very active people that wanted an active family companion. Sorry I didn't know that I had to list every activity they've done in the past 10 years so you could refer me to a breeder that might not place the right pup with them...wow I really feel like I'm missing out.
Is the view nice from up on that high horse?
Admit that you've made a mistake in your reading and this will be over...

LMAO! Alirod
In all actuality your second post reads The couple are very active and we live in a very dog friendly town.
Active is a pretty broad statement and could mean just about anything. You said nothing about them wanting an active family companion until you snapped off at me.
I'm not going to sit here and split hairs with you over a bunch of nonsense.
You started this thread trying to help out a friend. Nothing wrong with that.
But your friends are looking at a wide variety of breeds, care nothing of pedigree, just a solid dog at a low price, and you point blank stated I am trying to talk them into a GS because YOURS is so amazing and your had such a great experience with your breeder.
When a few of us questioned this and made a few points you didn't like, you got on your own high horse and started tossing insults. I didn't bring up ANYTHING a good breeder trying to match a pup to a prospective buyer wouldn't bring up.

Who do you consider a "good working line breeder" who charges (routinely) MORE than $1800 for an 8 wk old pup, Alirod?
by Alirod12 on 18 September 2010 - 17:09
Mobjack, you called me a jackass and that was the first insult tossed in this thread. It's not my fault you don't have an education, or that you are an inbred hillbilly. Please stop posting here, you idiot.

Actually, I said TWICE that I wasn't trying to be rude and ONCE that I wasn't trying to be offensive before you inferred that all I was here to do was be condescending. Therefore I most certainly did say that you were on the verge of starting to become a jackass. I did not call you a jackass. AND I tried to bow out gracefully since you didn't like what I had to say and even wished you and your friends well. Again you come back and toss out an insult to my intelligence by insinuating I have a poor level of reading comprehension.
My professors would be rather insulted at your comment that I am uneducated. Perhaps I should just trot on down to the post office and send back both my Masters Degrees and that would satisfy your Eminence?
Oh and just so you know, my people were originally flatlanders.

You do have a poor level of reading comprehension. I didn't insinuate it, I flat out said it.
So you're saying that "you're just about starting to be a jackass" is that different from calling me a jackass? Interesting, coming from someone who just posted that they "didn't want to sit here and split hairs about nonsense".
Wow, no comprehension AND a hypocrite to boot. I can only imagine what type of school would give you a Masters...Phoenix Online?

Alirod,
I think my comments were pretty fair based on what I had read at that point (and have just re-read). I didn't intend to be condescending at all. The written word is never is as good as having a conversation in real time I always think. That's one of the many reasons why I hate emails and text messages for certain things. 'Just ring me' I think sometimes! Good luck with your search, although I must say you're getting so upset here it sounds as if it's you looking for a dog. It's up to your friends at the end of the day, you can only advise.
