Hello Lief,
Sky is 13 months old. No, the rest of his body is perfect; only this area that is infected.
The German vet replied to your diagnosis and solutions. she said:
"Hello rania,
Demodex mites are also a possible cause, but to find them only on one spot and on one eye is very rare, so thats why I think its something else.
I would try with the treatment I suggested and sulfur soap is very good for demodex mites, but as I said I don't think, that's what it is.
Best regards,
Heike"
I can get surgical soap from one of my friends. She's a doctor and works in one of the hospitals here.
Thank you Lisa! But I think I'll pass.

sometimes a little bite or wound on the face will end up manifesting with demox where it might not otherwise have done,It really didn't look too bad from the picture, It did not look like an open sore? ,If it is demodex it may get a little worse before it gets better but its a self limiting condition for the most part

Hey Lief,
There sued to be something like a wound. That's why the first vet misdiagnosed it. But it healed when I applied the Zink ointment.
Well, I applying the drugs the german vet prescribed and I will you report to you and to her after five days.
Take care!

I have a male GSD that suddenly had a sport on his ear that the hair just disappeared, there was no wound but I took him the the vet and they did a skin scrapping and confirmed that it was Demodex.
It is a mite that all dogs have and people too. It stays dormant unless the immune system is compromised from vaccines usually. Most of the time the puppies immune system will fight it off and it will go away on its own, sometimes it has to be treated. The treatment is really easy.
How old is your dog? It usually occurs in puppies, but can effect adults as well even humans.
My vet did not treat his as it was just one spot, and it went away on its own. My little guy has not had anymore spots, and the hair has grown back completely, you can't tell there was ever anything wrong. I would ask a vet about this possibility.

Hello GSDshow,
I apologize for such a late reply. Sky is 13 months old. The area was getting bigger and annoying to me and I was afraid that the situation might get worse so I decided to treat it.
The medication proved to be effective and now the hair is growing back and the bald area is getting smaller :-))))
I have attached some more photos I took of sky.
He says thank you to all the forum members for being so informative and supportive.
