A mention was made about "not forgetting us in Ireland" when the new Events were being planned and what I hope to put forward to our Working Group is to get a deal from P & O Ferries to give us a lower price so as to make things a bit easier on the pocket for those of you in Ireland that would wish to support our Event.
Please feel free to e-mail or phone me if you want to discuss coming over and we will do our utmost to get you a fair deal on travel and a list of reasonable accommodation.
All the best

This is not meant to come across wrongly, but correct me if I am wrong - the Irish Sieger was in existance long before the British Sieger for the simple reason it was held in Eire which is part of the Eu, and it is only this year that the Irish Sieger has moved to Northern Ireland. We attended I think the 3rd Irish Sieger a number of years ago with one of my dogs.
The changes in the UK have taken a lot longer to implement because UK is not in the EU and the KC's statement on the British Sieger is that is has so far been held and I quote with "their APPROVAL" and according to the KC what is given can be taken away. Albeit that they allowed 5 Siegers to take place in the UK.
When the KC in the UK started to conduct a vendetta against the GSD many of the Breeders/Exhibitors and Enthusiasts decided enough was enough and I think if you check the database Scotland was first up with the idea to run Regional Type Shows (please note these are REGIONALS, not Siegers) and at the same time Jean Duff from Ireland wanted to start an Irish Progressive Group also. However, not long after all that the Irish Sieger was moved to Northern Ireland and I presume it will move north and south on an alternating system (this may of course be wrong and is only my thoughts on the situation not being privy to the plans).
From the initial movement on Scotland's part the League itself decided to hold a Regional Show on 25th April and which was the correct way to go and they obviously had to take the lead here. Most of the non-signing Clubs have now affiliated with the League as far as I am aware.
I know a number of people from Scotland who had intended to go over to the Irish Sieger in April and have changed their plans to attend on the new date in June and I am sure many of us have not forgotten about the Irish Sieger. Many of us no matter which part of the UK have to consider which Show it is appropriate to attend in respect of our personal circumstances and it is not possible for all to travel the length and breadth of the the UK to attend all the Shows and many have to pick and choose.
Personally, we would love to attend ALL the available shows, but it is not to be under our own circumstances and I am sure this is similar to many others.
Ireland is certainly not forgotten and many will make the effort to support its Sieger just as Ireland supports the rest of us.
We here in Scotland hope to help out with a deal on the Ferries, if they will allow it, so as to permit those that want to attend a Regional Show in Scotland a little less expense.
We wish you all the best with your Sieger Show when the time comes.

For many reasons it is imperrative the entry details and catalogue carry the Registration Numbers of each exhibit. This is the way it is done in Germany for various reasons. For one thing it is the way the details of the animal are checked via the SV database and I would advise that sooner rather than later we start to do the same, so that when we fully get our act together we create our own database where all the details of every dog that enters one of our events get stored onto our own database. This way we can build up a database of the dogs as they enter and apart from then making this easier to check the details of each dog the next time it enters, it also means it would be a useful tool towards creating the information required to produce fully itemised catalogues. Accessing a dogs details by using its unique Registration Number is not only easier (in that it requires less key impressions than typing the animals name) but it also helps prevent double database entries which sometimes happen in the incorrect spelling of an animals name.
Apart from all this I have laised with the owner of Winsis, and arrangements have already been made for all the Shows and the results of these WUSV Regional shows to be placed onto Winsis, so that you all can keep a check on what is doing what and obviously the added advantage is that your dogs placings in the UK will show up alongside any of the placings it receives in Germany or elsewhere under WUSV rules. Yes folks our results will now be joined up with the rest of the world !!! Fabdabbydosie.
Unfortuately the League did not obtain any of your dogs registration numbers for the first Regional Event, so up to now the results have not appeared on Winsis and indeed cannot appear on Winsis until all the Registration Numbers of the exhibitors have been acquired, which is actually a shame that we missed out on this opportunity, in joining in with the rest of Europe. However I did mention it to Paul Cassidy at the show and I believe he was somehow going to try to get all the Registration Numbers, but the point is, that IF we are going to do it ALL CORRECTLY these numbers should be submitted at the time of entry anyway. So lets start doing this from now on please and join in with the rest of the world.
Best Regards
