I have removed balls from dogs throats numerous times at training. People seem to panic when it happens. Usually it is very hard to remove by trying to grab it. You are better off going from the outside to try and dislodge ball. Glad your dog is OK!!!

Good to hear that your Dog was fine after his terrible ordeal, One thing though a Ball on a rope is fine nothing wrong with them, BUT you need to use a size ball which the dog cannot swallow i would think you had been using a small sized Ball
We do not always think anything can go  wrong,  But To be fair people just do not think of the Ball size at the time but awareness must be taken, I also know just a year or so ago over here a great WUSV prospect died of the same problem but again it was a small Ball
I am very conscious of this and any small balls on a rope i had were binned after this great Dogs accident, Now i use a size ball which i know is okay
