WOW:  These pic's are beautiful;  what kind of camera did you use?  He is really pretty, I see that he is a long coat;  how difficult is that  coat to maintain;  I mean does he continually shed like the stock coats?  Or 2 times per year shed?  Just curious;  see lots of long coats available but am a little reluctant due to upkeep?  Lovely pictures.  Nan

thanks everyone for your kind comments.

Nan those pictures where taken by a friend I am hopless with camera's .
he sheds continuously, but as long as I groom him every day it's very easy to manage and not a problem really.

Great pics and beautiful dog. He looks like a very happy boy. I love the coats! BTW, on my computer the pics are stacked on top of each other.

Nan, I have two "coats" and they don't shed nearly as much as my standard coat did. One of them has a VERY substantial undercoat too, but it is not a problem. Of course it may be due to the diet- not sure. I now feed raw.

Yes I feed raw also, I have noticed a great difference in the texture of the coats;  have noticed a little difference in shedding also, not significant but some.  Any is OK by me.  Does the undercoat matt?  Most double coated dogs you have to strip the undercoat out a couple times per year or it will matt?  Again, really nice pic's.  Nan

Kaz,
How long does it take that beautiful boy of yours to dry? He looks like he has quite a thick coat. Just curious.

Nan, The undercoat on our male will mat on his underside and the backs of his hind legs if he isn't brushed regularly. His hair is quite different than our female's. It is not nearly as silky and it is thicker. Right now I am using a shedding blade on both of them and I'm getting a good bit of hair out, but I don't find big hairy tumbleweeds in the house as I did with my standard coat.  Congrats for feeding raw :)

Thanks all,
Char: it depends really, if I bath him at home then take him to the park to dry off it takes forever,
but when we go to the beach he can be dry by the time we walk home, which takes about an hour.
odd! but true.
