Hi Jean, don't think so, I just had one done using a digital x-ray, this then had to go to another company to be put on old fashioned film to send to the BVA as they are still in the 19th century!!! Apparently, according to my vet, who is usually pretty accurate, they started an upgrade which went badly wrong and they are still trying to correct things, hence they can't read the digital x-rays, seems crazy in this day and age, but hey, what do I know !! This was the first time I had seen a digital x-ray, absolutely amazing the detail is fantastic, still waiing for the results though, but they looked ok :-))

hi sue
thanks I just know that a long time ago they were supposed to move to computerised readings and had assumed this had taken place. Yes the digital ones are brilliant as my vet shows us them when we go to pick the dogs up but she never mentioned having to put them on to the old type. Probably thought I would know. Anyhow like you am waiting for results and they looked ok but how ok just have to wait. jean

I have also just submitted xrays for both hips and elbows which are digital . I would agree with Sue and Jean the quality of these digital xrays are excellent and have also been informed they are to be transferred to normal type plates before sending to the BVA. I wonder if over the years the quality of the plates submitted have improved and this could be the reason for the scores to be higher. The detail is unbelievable compared to all the other xrays we have and any abnormalities would be much easier to see. When the results arrive I will post them.
