If I wanted to rob someone's house with a GSD, I'd just bring my GSD along. I swear, my dogs wouldn't even notice the robber if he brought his dogs along.

1) Kali would not have allowed the man to get near, & although not trained, she would be in his face, & would bite if got close enough. I have seen her in action protecting my grandchildren from someone she knew, keeping him back while maintaining position between him & the grandkids, all the while never knocking over or even being pushy with my granddaughter, who was a toddler at the time. After she dissuaded the 'bad guy' with her ferociousness, my grand daughter wrapped her arms around her neck & she was as gentle as a kitten with her.
2) Beckett would watch with interest, & spring up when they got too close. Whether he would bark or bite.....? He did surprise the UPS guy when he tried to walk up to the lounge chair I was sunning myself in to give me a package. He didn't see Beckett there next to the chair, but Beckett saw him! When he extended his arm towards me, that low growl Beckett had been making became a loud snarl, & he sat straight up rather suddenly, just making sure the guy saw him......ever see someone do a 20 foot long jump...BACKWARDS?

3) Lil' Bit....she'd lick him to death with her long very wet tongue! She's a friendly girl, everyone's her buddy!

4) Ansgar has potential. She alerts to strangers, is aloof to acquaintances, has guarded my vehicle appropriately, doesn't like anyone approaching, but will calm when I begin interacting with the visitor in a friendly way. I'm sure she would bark, I'm not sure she would bite. She is young yet, though, & not mentally mature yet.
Wolf, who lives with my stepdaughter, will bark, will guard, & might bite if provoked enough. As my husband says, "Will he bite? He's got teeth, don't he?" jackie harris

Duke (formerly feral WGSD)... would bark like an idiot and probably knock over a chair or two while retreating to the safety of the hallway to bark like thunder at them.
Klytie would position between me and the intruder barking in an aggressive manner, and would bit IF they laid a hand on me.
Ikon (the puppy) would Greet them as they came thru the door with a threat to equal theirs. At 5 months old he tried to get out to protect me from a Police Dog on alert on the street. He's also 100% happy greeting strangers in the car, or going into the Hospital to meet patients.
Klytie could be trained as a PPD. Ikon could be trained as a competitive dog, Police etc... He's also the only one who was bred specifically for working traits. As the guy I trained my old PPD with back in the 70's told me... you can teach ANY dog to bite, you can only train a stable dog when to bite and when not to.

There are so many people mooching around for whatever reason and GSDs are not seen here often that the mere sight and sound of her is enough to set the most adventurous of nuisance callers scampering off.
If someone did come into the property uninvited I hope that in the future she will simply attack.
Right or wrong, I believe that it would be wrong for me to hesitate; I will consider the consequences after the situation is over. I will train my dog to ensure that no one does come into my house without me being there.
At the moment as she is so young she would probably just burst their eardrums with her barking and subsequently lick them to death.
