It's near Caledon just North of Toronto. Don't know if that's near Orangeville or not?
Yes, he is planning on doing competition Sch with the dog and loves everything else about him except the lack of appetite.
I've spoken with animal control up there in that town and they say they aren't allowed to do wellness checks.
I also spoke with the previous owner, who then called and chated with the new owner.  It appears that the new owner just had a bad experience with a dog from Germany who would not eat and he sent the dog back.  I believe that the situation is not as bad as he made it out to be because he told the previous owner that the dog still has high energy and will play all day long. I think the previous owner made him relax some in knowing that the dog has never had that problem before and we are not trying to pull the proverbial wool over his eyes. So, he is taking him to the vet to rule out anything physically wrong.
The previous owner thinks that the guy is a good owner, just paranoid from the past experience. He is an excellent judge of character so that makes me feel more comfortable too.
We will see what happens.

Glad that a little communication seems to have calmed the situation.

Is this the situation we were talking about Debby?

I have heard of a story that the owner had moved to other countries and the GSD was so loyal that he would starve and keep waiting in the owner's room until eventually he died under the owner's bed and never came out.

I guess this is the reason why GSD is different from other breeds.......

Just something to share.

Wink,
I don't know what state you live in but don't be so quick on the draw with the "Warden" bit. Come on, you can't be serious, an empty water dish gets dog arrested - have you lost your mind. Let me at the County Attorney that issued that warrant.

Springer crapping in your yard - get a life - man-up and handle it with the neighbor without bully tactics of the "Doggy Warden".  Tell me you are not serious about the Sheriff coming in as backup in case the "crap" gets out of hand.

Wow, you must indeed own a  show line GS because I would hate to know a fellow working line dog owner would resort to such cowardness.

By the the way, my 2 GSD's that are in the house are up and at it at 6:15 am every morning.  Then we are at the kennel working at 7:00.  Maybe that Springer is trying to give you a life.

Tuff
I have "SLs & WL's"...and I would NEVER call the "doggy warden's" out on anyone......least of all my neighbors!.
The Animal Control dept's get way too many "stupid" calls as it is......usually from.. nosey, busy bodies.
Calling & reporting anyone because their dog "poops" where it shouldn't... is childish.......come on!
Many of us have had such issues happen on our properties...I'm sure.
Talking to your neighbors is best......never make waves where you live......especially when it comes to dogs.
People should only report true neglect & abusive treatment........

JMO,
Good for you. Leave the authorities to deal with the real abuse issues (and there are plenty of the them). I was just trying to make a point.
Have a great weekend. You and your dogs.
