Sunsilver...your girl is very sweet, & you have made a sound ethical decision about her....(& your critique is very honest)...nevermind those who do not understand the quest for knowledge that this board is supposed to enable.
Windwalker...when looking at Dingo's gaiting video, I was trying to apply what you were saying...his rear feet look like they pass over the imprint left by the forepaw, & the timing was a little different than you decribed...is that because he ws gaiting 'free'? I wish I could hear the narration in English, it is such a beautiful study of the gait of the GSD. I watch my own dogs, but it is difficult to really learn from them....usually I'm holding the leash, too, impossible to really see....LOL! Any further enlightment you can shed would be so well appreciated! Thank you, jackie harris

"Some people on this board think I lack the knowledge to judge a dog's conformation. "
Obviously the majority of the judges are the ones that really lack knowledge. Look at what is winning in the show(conformation) rings. A blind man could do a better job.

Ain't it the truth, Red Sable!
Isn't Lew Bunch the current president of the GSDCA? Here's his favourite dog of all time, according to an interview posted on the GSDCA's website:

As someone far more knowledgeable than me commented, "If that's what he thinks, the GSDCA needs to do a better job of educating their judges!

RED SABLE, i did not think it was possible for you to be more stupid than you already are, but your last comment takes the biscuit, lmfao. Are you now trying to tell me that you, Sunsilver and her ilk know more than the " majority of judges" . That statement is the reason that you will always be just another user on a internet dog forum talking dogs, instead of the real dog people out there doing it for real. You are a joke, if you think anyone can learn from your stupid, bias, illinformed, utter nonsense you are very sadly deluded. I'll bet you i could come back here in 10 years and you and the rest of the stupid people will still be here, slagging off pictures of dogs, talking the same old shit. That's if you lot have not been arrested or sectioned under the mental health act. While the knowledgeable, experienced, breeders/owners will be in the real world doing the best for the breed, who do not post here nearly enough because of idiots like yourself. Sadly it is the genuine novice looking for info here that will miss out on our experience and knowledge, as it is not worth the hassle we get from the know it all know nothing fools like yourself. As i said before i have some time to waste hence my reason for being here, i think i can find better entertainment elsewhere, so i will take my exit, thank you!!! I wish you luck, heaven knows you're gonna need it!!!! Barry G. xxx

Why do some people think acting like a hostile know-it-all makes them a "real" dog person?

by Sunsilver on 01 November 2009 - 20:11
He's a gorgeous dog, vom Marischal, even if he's part wolf! And I LOVE gray sables!
Anyone think Bazza needs to read that thread about R. Mayer, and all the corruption regarding the judges and officials in the SV?

Sunsilver,
What's wrong with the GSD in the last pic you posted? I think she looks pretty good.

Coming from you Bazza, that is a compliment. The more you babble the less respect I have for anything that comes out of your mouth. Find another breed to ruin will ya?

Well, the first thing that I notice is her flat feet and weak pasterns. Then, like most American showlines, she has a steep, upright front, and an overangulated rear with a very long upper thigh. That means she's not balanced: the rear is more angulated than the front. Her front is less extreme than some, but still not good. Her ears are on the large side, and though it's hard to tell from the angle of the photo, I think they're a bit weak (kite ears, that slant off to the side, instead of being parallel to each other.) American showlines are also famous for 'friendly ears', ears that 'wave' as they trot, instead of being nice and stiff the way a GSD's ears should be. Without seeing her in the flesh, I can't be sure about that, though.
Her tail is tucked between her legs, which is never a good sign as far as temperment goes.
