thanks for the invite but I think more than me you will benefit more by attending since you will see what a real dog is all about rather and maybe for a change get a real dog in life ;-)  Hey that is always if they have lifted the ban on you from attending the seminar. And by the way I requested experts to comment not nitwits

Good Luck!!!

Vikram,
I wan't inviting you I assumed or hoped you were going.  You need to get to a seminar and learn a thing or two about working dogs.  At least you can plagorize some things people say at the seminar for your website.  As far as real dogs go I have one and Koos worked him.  His comment was that  my dog would be one he would have in his kennels.

I hope to see Koos again if he visits out my way this year.  He is an extremely knowledgeable guy and most interesting to talk to.  The ban comment was almost as funny as your critique of the video.  Thanks for the laugh.

Jim

Do you ever wonder why people rarely comment on the threads you post?

Vikram, Vikram, Vikram............

There's an old saying, (and I might not say it verbatum but you'll get the jist) "Better to remain silent and thought a fool than to open your mouth and remove all doubt !"

It's not exactly what you say (but in this case it is) but how you say it. IMO, when I see something like your comments it would be nice to know the person's bio. That way if the person works dogs then maybe they were taught wrong and just need to be reeducated. And if they don't work dogs (or even have dogs) then what the hell are they even doing here?

Obviously since you are way off on that observation. but still able to comment with an attitude then tell us why the decoy when the dog, los/or outs the bite, looks away or stops making eye contact with the dog? Then we might continue why one would "pop" the leash...............

FANTASTIC

For those of you who really don't know what you are looking at, the leash corrections were for a dog that can't contain itself after motion to the blind and will probably grip short and thrash.  The sleeve was moved on the re-attacks before the stick hence making it a prey bite and not a defense bite as is the exercise.  In fact the stick was not raised over the dog until she was already on the grip.  Outs were very slow and chewy which usually denotes a dog who's nerves are a little iffy.  "Help, I can't let go because I am no longer in control of the situation".  Lastly, the dog  breaks down on the long bite and collects itself before the grip.  A dog that will probably look good on YouTube but not really do that well when being judged in 3 phases.  Could be wrong, I was once before but I'm betting I'm correct.

Wow....I did not mean to start something here.  I was just asking for an explanation/clarification since I am limited to the experience I have gained from my 2 trainer friends (each have spent 20+ years training working dogs) and I have only had a couple years experience in Schutzhund.  I was always taught that the leash pop was a correction and wasn't sure the reasoning for it in this instance therefore I was wondering if I was missing something.   I was truly just curious.

Mindhunt,
I'll PM you.

Dude,
I think that is one very nice female and I do not see all of the issues you are describing as a big problem.  I really like the dog, but I like high drive, intense females like her.  I see what you are saying, but I just have a slightly different opinion.   I would be very happy owning that female and working her.

JMO,

Jim
