We will get the results up as soon as we can. Bit knackered after yesterday. So bear with us. Amongst everything I actually did not fill in my catalogue. Sorry, BUT we will be with you shortly. Hope that suits everyone.
Thanks

The GSD World in the UK is a changing and if this is the shape of things to come all I can say is .WOW !!!!! I STILL HAVE GOOSE PIMPLES THINKING ABOUT IT (and thats not a joke!!!).

Seeing Malcolm Willis there was brilliant, so glad he could make it to this Historic Event, same for Roy Allan. Remembered when all of us used to say we probably would never see the like of such an event in our own lifetime, well both Malcolm and I were so very, very pleased to be proved wrong.

I felt happy, relaxed, liberated, unthreatened (no KC threat to worry about), the atmosphere was SO COOL and SUPERBLY FRIENDLY, all were BUZZING. PINCH ME was I dreaming? Well no I WAS JUST LIVING THE DREAM !! Absolutely WELL DONE GSD LEAGUE for a SUPERB SHOW , you covered everything so perfectly, right down to the MASSIVE RIBBON CLADDED CHEWY BONE for each class winner.

But  amidst all this EUPHORIA folks, we MUST NOT  forget the people we owe it all to, the ones who made it all possible, who turned our years of dreams into reality a big round of applause and our grateful thanks to THE KENNEL CLUB !! Oops and lets not forget the small but not insignificant part played by AW and BAGSD's, so sorry neither could make it !!  Sadly for you , you missed a FABULOUS DAY.

Yeah, role on the next WUSV show and by the way Jim H, when it comes to Scotland don't forget I promise to do the same honour for your flag as you offered to do for my English Cross of St George !!    Now I cant say fairer than that.

See you all in three weeks time at North East and Allertonshire, remember this will be the last time both of these clubs give out KC CC;s so they deserve your support to ring out the old to be free to sing in the new.

The Bestest Regards
Sue

One or two little comments. Firstly as Nikki said thank you for everyone who made the day possible. Good venue, good entry, nice atmosphere, the judge has not judged here before but he was extremely easy to get on with and I felt that his judging was good to watch. Terry gave his time freely and his experience and general attitude always tick the boxes for me. A true gentleman. The food and protection demos were organised by Steve Havers and the Leics Sch Club. I thought they worked very hard.

One or two things that I think should be mentioned. Malcolm Willis attended the show. He is clearly very frail BUT he got up at 3am to make sure he was there. He said that we have some VERY nice animals.  I think he enjoyed himself and stayed far longer than his health dictated. Seeing Roy Allen and many other people who I have not seen for many years.

One incident stood out though. In the Working Classes after the onlead gaiting we then had the off lead gaiting. The owners generally do this with their own dogs for obvious reasons. However the dog and owner in first place were not in harmony, shall we say. So Steve Cox, who was handling the second placed dog, said he would try with the 1st dog. Now as far as I know he has no connection with the dog, Idol , but he managed to control the dog and Idol completed his round off lead with Steve. I thought this summed up the day in many respects. A fantastic act of sportsmanship and it ensured that Idol won the class. I also know that the judge thought this was a great gesture.

So there you have it. Hope the class winners are of some use at this stage? Gotta go to work now.
Many thanks

Been lurking watching all the goings on in the Shepherd world and decided I really should join to offer my congratulations to all involved in leading the breed forward in this new direction.  This was being talked about years ago, so good to see it happening at long last, my old ma would be thrilled!

Fantastic day
I managed to stay and watch the males BUT forgot my medication and had to go home early.
Everyone was in high spirits and I look forward to the next one.
Also I noted there was NO mad running around outside the ring double handling and no loud whistles and horns.

WELL DONE THE GSD LEAGUE

I have been looking at one or two things and perhaps this may surprise some. From the catalogue yesterday we had 100 animals entered in Adult Dog, Working Dog,Adult Bitch and Working Bitch. Everyone of these animals had to have a breed survey to enter. To gain a survey the animals HAVE to be healthy with good hips, temperament etc etc as we know. 100 dogs that have all passed the requirements needed.

We all know that the KC argument about health is fairly limited to say the least and I feel that this simple action of 100 dogs fit for purpose says far more than any number of meetings to discuss what biscuits to have at the next meeting!!

A powerful simple statement of fact that totally erodes the KC actions in one go.

You know you can get a really good feeling sometimes. For me this simple fact paints a thousand pictures. The GSD folk have for years led the way in health issues and ALL requirements are purely done on a voluntary basis just think about that for a second.
NOBODY waving a big stick or threats just normal folks who happen to like the GSD as breed going about their breeding programme in an ethical manner.
Nice thought eh?

Anyhow better go and do some more work got a business to run I,m afraid.
Watch out for further info here and on the GSDL website in due course.
Thanks again

I couldn't agree more, it was a super day, with really nice relaxed atmosphere, and excellent judging.  I was very pleased with my  SG2 and V3 with mum and daughter !!!
Even picking up the fag ends at the end wasn't as much of a chore as I have found it in the past !!! Thanks to all involved, a truly great day :-))
