PINERIDGE

he is a most interesting looking dog - you would think he would show his name and put him in the database here so we could easily see his background. -- oh well.....I'm not shopping for a stud dog -- especially NOT in black. but he's very easy on the eyes.

by Ibrahim on 23 April 2012 - 05:04

Yes I'm suggesting using him for show bitches, he's v rated and to me he is correct to the standard and can ad to character and ligament strength which a lot of show studs lack, most probably if he doesn't ad to conformation he won't take off much of it, so there isn't much compromise here really. I imagine a serious breeder would consider him seriously, don't you think so too?

Ibrahim
Yes, I agree this black dog looks fabulous - though obviously what he can DO is just as important.
JMO, but if using him at stud I'd put him to a bitch with better pasterns; just being super-picky !

Topline in the pic if you look closely looks altered.

And IMO, crossing the working and the show, is crossing to completely different bloodlines. Theoretically it could take a few generations to get what you want as far as show and work from this type of breeding.

Topline does look altered, nice catch. Pretty dog though.

Beautiful dog, I see no sign that the topline is altered. I'm a firm believer that crossing the lines is nothing short of moving forward with the betterment of the breed. So many of the most talked about Czech working dogs have showline dogs in their pedigrees. All this my dog is better than your dog stuff is what keeps the lines seperated. Showline-working line, whatever. They are ALL German Shepherds. I have been crossing the line for years,I have dogs that are successful in work, sport and home.

Kitkat,

You have the courage and commitment many breeders lack, I congratulate you on your achievements and I admire you and wish one day I shall follow on your track.

The grass pixels are fuzzy. Maybe the grass all happens to be growing in a different direction just behind him.

Thanks Ibrahim, I take great pride in my dogs. I do what I do because I love it, and I love them. I have to say I have been extremely lucky in the dogs I have, as far as health issues go. I feel I am obligated for life, to every pup I produce, so I do my best to produce dogs that will lead long, productive lives with the families they go home with, and truthfully, most go to pet homes and that is fine with me. My police dog was a BONUS

I would expect any breeder would consider each breeding....a breeding with the future generations in mind...?  YES...he looks to be a beautiful dog of *any* color.  I too, will use a WL X SL cross, and I would expect it to be considered and affect the future litters born out of the cross....
