She looks like a cross between working & showline

by Ryanhaus on 01 September 2009 - 12:09
She is East German, her pedigree link is above, I am wondering as she grows how straight her back will be, I'm looking for a little more angle in my dogs, I also breed labs and I'm afraid my GSD's are starting to look too chubby and square

Hi Ladies!
I didn't get online once yesterday and was having withdrawls lol. So now you're in for a long (probably boring and self centered post :)
Paula, Do you have a website so I can see all of your dogs?
I thought until about two months ago I knew my dog (Galan 2 yrs) like the back of my hand! I assumed that I could handle 2 or even 3 pups at the same time. Then I began SchH. LOL Well I found out that as much as my dog loves me in his own doggy way, he's a BULLY and I have my hands full with just the OB part if we want to make our BH in December. My problem is pretty much the same as all beginner handlers who start SchH late. My dog obeys with the snap of finger at home and gives me "the paw" at the club. Embarrassing and frustrating yes, but he's a quick learner and has very high drive, so I'm learning patience :)
-Segway to Kelly.....LOL I enjoyed your website. I need to stay away from it. That male pup was calling me I swear! I should be in the psych ward next to you hehehe ...
When I went to Galan's breeder's site a couple months ago, I saw he was doing a breeding I am VERY interested in and I asked him to reserve a female pup for me.
My TD (at my SchH club) and his wife gave each other a look, when I told them I was getting another pup, and finally said, "Stace, you can't handle 2 pups right now. You are too new of a handler, and will be making A LOT of mistakes already with Galan like all new handlers do."
Did that deter me? Hell NO! I begged my fiancee to handle the new pup when she comes home LOL. He is new to SchH too, and he likes it but he's not an addict like me. I even told him to take the money he set aside for the DIAMOND I've been bugging him for for the last 3 years and buy the pup for me and we'd call her "Ice" (She'll have an I name) Anyway, he agreed, but won't use my ring money lol. As much as he's the strong silent type, he LOVES puppies. And he's a sucker for a workingline pup :)
Galan's breeder is Rinus Baastiaansen over in Belgium. He happens to be a friend of Steve1's and his Izzy's breeder. SchH is a small world lol. They train together and Steve has met the parents to my future girl in person and agreed they are both outstanding dogs. (I've only seen videos and heard stories) So Steve has offered to go over to Rinus' after they the pups are born and take a few extra pictures for me at some point after they are born. Isn't he a great guy?? :-))
Anyway, Looking forward to more pics of Rollie (Roland lol) and the new baby girl, they're darling!

LOL, that last pic of the first set is so cute! It's as if she is looking and thinking, "Is anyone in there?"! She's adorable!
