So, I've been doing research and I have seen the prices on the higher rated dog food. I think I may be better off switching to raw. There's a place in town where I can get whole little chickens for less than $3 each (although I have always heard not to give dogs chicken bones b/c of choking hazards). I also learned that there are 3 butcher shops within 20 min. of my house. So I will be going next weekend when I do my grocery shopping to see what I can do. Lucky for me I just went back to work last week and will be getting a $5/hr. raise within 4 months (I'm training to be office manager) so the raw should be very doable for me then, if not this weekend.

Its possible, you can get a 50lb of grain free dog food anywhere between $70 and up depending on the dog size they may eat about 3 cups a day
Chicken thighs/drumsticks/quarters are usually on sale where live anywhere from $0.74 lb and up and I go buy up about 50lbs at a time and store it in my spare freezer
Chicken livers are less than $1.50 a small bucket, beef tripe almost $2.00lb, chicken gizzards $1.50lb left over butcher stuff soup stew beef chopped up about $3.00lb, a couple of raw bones to store in the freezer.

Well in total raw shopping I spend around $200 or more a month, and they are only 5 months old puppies one is stocky weighs 40lbs, the other one is lean weighs about 34lbs feed them 2lbs a day or little more now since its really getting hot here in arizona now and the sun really drains energy.

The other option we tried, was getting prepackaged raw http://rawdogfoodaz.com/ and they deliver to your home, its roughly about $2lb  and you feed them 2% of their body weight
so about 25lbs cost $50. How long it lasts you and how much you buy depends on the size of your dog.

IMO raw runs a little on the expensive side, and is a little inconvinient messy. Feeding it in the backyard with the hot a$$ sun even in the hot shade lol,   feeding in their kennel inside the home.
With dry food there's no worry about them dragging blood around the house lol, the bowl stays in one place and they clean up their own spilled mess for the most part :)
