My vet also recommended giving our dog a low dose of Pepcid/AC at the same time, to counteract the side effect of excess stomach acid.

Thanks for the insight. I have not and don't plan on "fixing" this dog. Since he still wants to run the show from time to time I am going to keep him off the med for now.
