I have to agree with Gustay, it is simply a matter of opinion.
For me, the starting point is the bitch, and as with any breeding, the stud selection should be based on matching dogs with complemenary characteristics where strengths are enhanced and weaknesses are reduced.
As I said in a previous post, the bitch in question is beyond doubt, going to be the dam of my puppy. She has what I want in my next dog. I work with her as a Helper every weekend, and I simply love her....she is awesome in my view. The co-owners of the bitch are making the stud selection, not I, as they are much more qualified than I in this regard and I am happy to defer to their expertise.
Having said that, their selection of Ozzy Barnero is pretty exciting to me, in that I have always admired Czech dogs, and I think pretty highly of Ozzy & Eurosport K-9. I have personally seen Ozzy work at the WUSV and although he failed to out, I was very impressed with him. I think the combination of these two dogs has the potential to make for a very exciting litter.
My reason for posting here, more than anything, was to simply gain more insight to Ozzy, his progeny, and what the Czech blood will brig to the equation. I am aware of the slow maturing nature of the Czech dogs, but I am of the opinion that Ozzy will offer significant drive to the mix and again, I think this will be an exciting litter.
Thanks for the feedback....anyone else with specific experience/exposure to Ozzy, his progeny, or Czech dogs are welcome to share their thoughts.

I think you are going to be VERY happy with your Ozzy pup. Ozzy is a very nice dog. He has alot of power in his protection, nice flashy obedience, and is a good tracking dog. I talk to Taunya from Eurosport K9 alot. They have very nice dogs and the dogs are also doing very well in competition. I really like what Ozzy and Erri are producing.

Although I have lived with GSDs for 13 years, I would not consider myself an expert with pedigrees. Having said that, I am very excited to see the puppies this combination produces....from my novice eye, this seems to (on paper) be a very stong combination.
Jyl, I agree with you and I have a great deal of respect for the folks behind both of these dogs. November is when Eris heads to Texas to meet Ozzy, and I cannot wait!!
dAWgESOME, thanks for the invite, I would welcome an opportunity to hear of your firsthand experiences with one of Ozzy's pups.

Vikram,
I respect your views, and I agree Eliot von Prevent seems to be a very impressive hund. The thing you have to factor into the equation is the subjectivity of human nature....I am simply infatuated with Ozzy.
On a pragmatic point, Eliot von Prevent looks to be a dog in Germany....Eris vom Wildhaus is in Michigan USA, and in November, Ozzy Barnero will be in Texas. The logistics between Michigan & Texas will be challenging and expensive enough...sending her to Europe is infinitely less practicle for us.
Having said that, I still see your point....there are excellent WG bloodlines, why go Czech? Because we like Ozzy!
I assume you're in the UK. I travel to Sutton in Ashfield, Nottingham for business. Lets say you and I sat down for a pint together on my next trip. What if I ordered a Manns brown ale, and you ordered Guinness porter....would you take exception to that? Do we have to enjoy the same style of brew to share our passion for beer? Can't we still knock back our respective pints and enjoy what we have in common? Once we're a bit pissed (drunk if you're Americian), we won't care about brown ale, porter, West German, or Czech!!!
Cheers!

I will pass the word to Mike Diehl and also the Taunya and Josef that they are not going to get anywhere with Ozzy or Erri since Czech dogs are bad...hehe. Mike is going to be PISSED since he has been working with Erri for about a year now. Sorry I couldnt resist!!
