EliDog

Where do you want to start?  He has a nice dog with some very good training but was clearly not having his best day.  Aside from the dog's overall lackluster performance, it anticipates the out...more than once, hesitates to out...at least once and completely falls apart toward the end of the routine harassing the helper, taking dirty bites, etc.  Are you seriously suggesting that this dog as it shows in this video should be representing our country's team in a world competition?

Overall lackluster performance? ...lol....I didn't post anywhere that this dog should be on the WUSV team...no where.  I said there isn't 23 points lost on this routine.

Caputo deducted 63 points more from the WDA participants in protection alone but no one from the USCA can give the IPO deductions and why??  Just we are better and Caputo is innocent .. sounds like the usual excuse for breaking the rules by the USCA gang.

That's less than one post a day for me considering that I've been here since before you could spell GSD.

Wallace Payne .. please explain the 22 point reduction in Krista Wade's protection routine given by Caputo using IPO point deductions.  Anyone else that thinks Caputo was not low-balling the WDA participants please give it a go as well.

I obviously can't speak to Krista's routine without seeing it but wondered when I first saw her score if it might have something to do with the dog's age.  I would expect he is very near to being retired.

Mr bubbabooboo
No one not even your esteemed self replied to my post, Why did Krista Wade,s dog get a average score from Two Judges when one Judge ruled that her dog failed to get the appropriate amount of points to PASS the Phase C of the competition; It matters not that she was not in the running her dog failed by one judge and i do not care from which body he was judging the fact remains the Dog failed the exercise
Now i am not a Qualified judge; Just very much motivated in the Sport of IPO; and over the years i have seen dozens and dozens of Club Trials and also very many Top Class Selection trials including WUSV. so i pride myself to a certain extent that when i see a dog work i can very much tell what scores it will get as i always give every dog i see in a trial a score just to see how it matches up with the proper qualified Judge. a lot of the time i am correct or within a point or so. on the occasion i have been 5 or so points out but seeing i am not on the work field it is not possible to see everything.
If you tell me where i can see a video of Krista Wades dogs Protection phase i will give you my unabiased view of where the dog lost the points or should he have lost them at all. i have no axe to grind in favour of the Clubs competing, so you will get an honest view from a compete outsider, and i mean an honest view.

Steve1 .. I am on it .. I will find a video if possible.  I would value an unbiased assessment as I will not waste my time with such as I am not of the correct social club to have a valuable opinion whatever the reasoning or rationale.  My understandin of the IPO judging system is that it is a points accrued system with each segment of a phase allocated a set number of points and if the dog performs the task according to the standard full credit is given.  If partial performance such as missing a blind or running around a jump in one direction partial points are given for that portion of the test.  Nowhere in my readings and observation does the word better appear in the IPO standard and there are no style points such as when the dog heels back to the handler out of the bark and hold.  There are at least 4 methods that the dog can use to reach the heel position by the handler from the bark and hold and all are given equal points if the dog performs the heel cleanly and quickly and assumes the proper positioning in the heel position.  When the dog performs the task and meets the standard full points are given and there are no style point deductions or credits allowed unless written into the IPO standard.  Please comment on my understanding of IPO rules.

A link to the 2012 and 2013 WUSV qualifier results with Judge Mike West as WDA judge both years and USCA Judge Craig Groh in 2012 and USCA Judge Caputo in 2013 fro a comparison of the consistency of scoring with two different USCA judges and the same WDA judge.
