I never got up set at a trial until I saw a peg leg pirate laying tracks with a work boot on his good leg and a sneaker laced to his wooden leg. His eye patch was on the opposite eye to his bad leg and he walked in a circle all day. I am certain the only reason he was there was to ruin somebody's day. Do not get me started about the fowel mouthed parrot he had on his shoulder dropping sunflower seeds all over the circle tracks. In fact I think Ivan got his bandana from that pirate.

You get the same people saying the same thing. Trying to claim the discussion is a personal attack on Marcus and not a critique of ONE video of ONE Catch. Now facing the prospect of a much clearer blu ray DVD of the catch. They're campaigning that the thread be locked. How transparent can you get? If you can't dazzle em with brilliance? Baffle them with bull shit or start the personal attacks and "if you're not a certified decoy you don't know what you're talking about" posts. If all else fails go for the let's lock the thread ploy.
You don't like the thread or how many replies there have been? The don't reply anymore !

I don't have time to read this whole thread, but were the people commenting actually at the AWDF? I was...I actually was the one to videotape Ivan's protection routine. The spectators were located on the right side of the helper. Marcus swung Ebor left, aka, not possible for the spectators to see exactly what happened. Did he swing early, or did Ebor miss....who knows. Ivan and I watched the video, and from the angle, you couldn't tell. I have seen Ebor work MANY times. He has never missed a long bite, but I know he comes like a freight train.
Marcus is an excellent helper...he has a fraction of a second to make a decision about a dog coming down the field. He is only human. He caught dogs safely all weekend. It is the nature of the sport- sometimes there are good days, and sometimes bad ones....the important thing is Ebor was not injured. Ivan has been very nervous about that fact, and as upset as he was about protection, I am sure he is happy that his dog is healthy.
Ivan is my mentor, if you will. I have trained under him many times, and he has been an amazing person in my IPO journey, but I also know that Marcus is only human..IF he made a mistake, it is what it is....IF Ebor missed the bite, it is what it is......
FYI...Ebor was not the only dog to be left out of Marcus' video..my dog was not included...and he had an awesome catch with my dog.

So watch the HD video and which was it?? Slow motion HD video does not lie and if the helper gave a poor presentation as it appears on the low res video the question is answered. The fact that the helper made many good and excellent catches is not in dispute. The question is did the helper give Ebor a fair chance to target and grip the sleeve?? Nobody that has studied the high definition video thus far has said yes .. I will post screen shots as soon as I can get them from the bluray video from Shellshots. Everyone is more than willing to let Ebor take the blame for a poor helper presentation and catch and all that gushing about Ivan and the blue sky and mom and apple pie is all just crap. Ivan said the helper turned too soon and there is more there than that so lets see it all and learn from it. The best dog does not always win and sometimes the helper makes a mistake .. what is so hard to recognize about either of those statements?? Nance and Zdog and a host of other "you must believe us because we say so" experts have said the catch and presentation were just like the others and Ebor flat out missed and the helper was not at fault.. Let's see if they are right or just blowing smoke as usual. WATCH the HD VIDEO and prove it.

To all the so called experts who are commenting on this thread. Unless you ARE a Qualified Helper and taken the exams and got the papers to prove it? and on top of that a few years more experience afterwards to perfect the trade. A Bad Helper can ruin a Dog for Life,
A Good Helper can help a Bad Dog improve, and that takes a lot of Practise
Passing something does not make one know it all, It takes years of practical experience after to perfect it.
Plus unless you actually train a dog in the Sport and watch Dogs being caught by Helpers several times a week and 50 or so weeks of a year who certainly know what they are doing and this man Marcus certainly does know his trade, and then watch dozens of real Trials in real life not just on videos then i am afraid one should learn when to to a SOCK in it meaning you Mr Bubba. You are like an old Record where the needle has got stuck.
You are of course entitled to your opinions but you always seem to want to win, well i can understand why you do nothing it seems with your dogs regards IPO sport i doubt they even get to go for a walk as you seem to spend most of your waking day on the computer replying and saying the same thing over and over again; IF you are so tight Bubba then tell me where i may purchase this Video plus full address to send the cash too and i will buy it and get it sent to a member of this Forum to put on this PDB. That is of course if it will show a better version of the event than the videos put on here already and the ones that you are commenting on, If not then it will be a waste of time
Before anyone may ask the question; NO I am not an Helper, Far too old for that game it is not so easy as some make it look. it is a tough game and you have to be fit very fit and strong to handle dogs that hit you like a freight train. Now i must get ready to go to a Sieger Show to cheer the Entrants on from all Countries, Starts to day

Honey booboo, if ever I have seen a poor sport, it certainly is being demonstrated by you!
You must have some sort of an interest in this dog that you insist on making a spectacle of yourself, and the dog.
I can assure you, you are doing this dog "no favor" by keeping this up. If you are thinking all this whinning about this incident is going to get the end result changed in the scorebook, I can assure you, it is not.
Everyday, some sport fan or soccer mom is crying foul on a call, in the end, it changes nothing.
When someone types this dog into a search, is "this" really what you want to be this dogs spotlight?
I wouldn't.
(Sorry bout the honey booboo, but your acting like a little girl)(give it a rest).

The slow motion HD blu-ray video will settle this controversy once and for all and I expect some of you have already seen it and know that it shows the helper was at fault. Show the HD video and stop making excuses for the helper .. he made a mistake !!! I want everyone to see the video and for once we will not have to rely on Nance, Zdog, and the other online experts to tell us what we see and what we think. Tired of being told that the online experts are the be all and end all to each and every subject when they seem unable to be truthful on other subjects discussed previously. See the video and then tell me and anyone else that has already looked at the low res video and drawn a conclusion that we are wrong. The truth wounds all heels!!!
