@Daryl

You said,

"Panjo's breeding goes back on a long line of Kirschental dogs to a time even before Canto or the S/W split."

Which is a conclusion you apparently reached without looking at Panjo's pedigree which can be seen here:

http://www.pedigreedatabase.com/gsd/pedigree/516718.html

You know, for a really intelligent guy you can sure come up with some interesting notions.

I traced the Kirschental lines back to something like 1957, I believe.  I don't know the lines, I've already said, but when do most people agree that the split occured?  Smartass.

I was wondering:

The dog Frankie Anrebri from what i have heard is a great working dog. Also from t he pictures i have seen he looks like he has great conformation. This dog is not a cross between a show-line and a working line, but is in fact a European line.

The same goes for this dogs son Francesco Anrebri. He also from what i have heard has great working skills. Also from the pictures he looks like he has great conformation. This dog is also from working lines only.

How come these lines of Anrebri have such great working ability as well as conformation.

Also another line which comes up significantly in the Anrebri dogs is the Pohranicni dogs. From what i have heard they are strong workers and from the pictures they have good conformation.

How is this?
is it just natural or what?

All help welcome.

Me a Smartass?

Well, you got that part right!

But seriously dude,  I really don't understand your contempt for showlines.  But then again, I don't have to.

Quote: I am not here to argue. I only know I have titled my dogs and had help too, but they were titled. I am no body to buy anything. I did not buy my V ratings or my SG1's. I have had 4 and now my 5th dog so I have done it. Don't knock it till you try it.

Show me some video of these dogs. Show me the HGH vids as well. Then we will see. Maybe you didn't buy it, but a gimme is a gimme.

I notice that there are no show line people busting out vids of their dogs working. Just sad. I am not even seeing video of these amazing show / work crosses.

It is really easy to shut people up, just show the dogs working. I see no links here.

I am not here to argue, you have not presented any proof at all that showline / workingline crosses can do much of anything. I know people have video of their dogs "doing" Sch. Where is it ?

Jeff,

Enjoy what you have, I will enjoy mine.  Just trying to help with your ignorance.  However, I just don't see the need to prove anything to you.

Have a great dog day!

Peace, Steve.  And you Jacko.

I suppose my contempt comes from the hypocracy, greed, and political thirst of the showline crowd, and their purpose of intent that clearly does not fall in line with the original founder's beliefs.  I don't necessarily hate the dogs, but they don't belong under the breed's label if they're knock-off imitations.  I don't have any serious contempt for the showline breeders that above all else strive to maintain working characteristics in their lines, but how many do?  Kirschental, and who else?

The workingline german shepherds aren't perfect on the whole, but a lot more deserving of the breed's name, IMO.

There are some succesfull dogs with at least 50% showlines, for example this WUSV winner, have also seen other good dogs from that kennel even if they also seems to use much workinlines now,
http://www.pedigreedatabase.com/gsd/pedigree/389212.html

Also this bitch have done well and as I said eralier have been crossed with workingline studs which have produced several succesfull SCH-dogs, video of the bitch here,

http://www.oddvarg.no/video/fcivm2005Bima%20Gruppe%20C.wmv

With that said, many of the showpeople would probably think these crosses ain´t looking "showy" enough for their taste, and as long as no can explain why wild animals close to our dogs have no slopping back and extreme angulation the discussion get´s a bit silly, and why have other herdingbreeds like border collies and kelpie no slopping rounded backs??
