Congratulation's to all competitors for your efforts and achievements.....WOW to be in your shoes...how exciting.
Bubba,
I'm a relatively new UScA member...it's been about two years now. I have two working line dogs (one 2yo and one 3 months), have completed a trial and train in both IPO and Wilderness SAR....I'm not a breeder just a long time lover of the GSD. Honestly, I had never heard of the WDA until recently (we don't have any WDA clubs here in New Mexico) and don't have anything against either organization.
I will tell you however.....I don't like politics and I especially don't like whiners and poor sports.
I've been following many of your posts and can't seem to figure out why you have such an axe to grind with an organization that you seem to have little interaction with. If you've ever competed in sports with animals, where the outcome is determined (judged) by individuals, you would know that, there is always going to be some level of subjective evaluation. Unless we have the same level of experience as the judges and are there at the event to witness this evaluation, what gives us or you the right to spread conjecture? Furthermore, don't you think that these men judged this very high profile (WUSV Qualifier) event knowing full well that their every move would be scrutinized by both organizations? Why would you automatically think that they would throw their reputation and integrity out the window for this event? Furthermore if you were not at the event how do you know who is or isn't judging per standard? I would say that you are showing a very poor sportsman like attitude except that you don't compete in this sport so I am once again confused at your attitude towards the UScA.
Please...we have both UScA and WDA members on the USA WUSV team can't you just be happy for them without starting an off topic debate on who is or isn't following standards and cheating....again?

Wallace Payne is here!
The most important thing is the right handler/dog team were selected! We have had 3 qualification trials and we still have not gotten the judging correct. Or did we? Not one person that did not get selected can honestly say the judging is why they did not make the team. Sigrid: Her obed let her down and if you look at protection you will see it was not great either. Marty ( Keep in mind Marty did not complain ) blew the track. Ronny blew the track, T. blew the track, Krista protection was average, Debbie average Obed and DQ'd the protection, My friend Dwight ran into a wall in protection, he's not blaming the judging and he had a 13 point difference between Mike & Mike. All the above mention either had their chances or they were the favorites to make the team.
The event is about making the TEAM and the team only! ONLY the top six count everyone else had a bad weekend as far as the event is concern, it does not go into your score book, there is no trophies or podium and you can pull any time you are ready without getting an unsportsman like conduct slapped on you. All on the team USCA & WDA are friends of mine! The best teams were picked as far as I'm concern!! I wish I could have face those judges this weekend.

BooBoo can't help it!
You see, he enjoys this because he knows he rankling some feathers. He also feels that if he writes his crazy crap enough some people will believe it and that he is making a permanent and searchable record of this crap in hopes it will be found and again believed by easily influenced minds.
He really isn't that difficult to figure out.
BooBoo is a Leerburg devotee. Ed wrote a bunch of nasty things about UScA years ago after he was banned from some of their events because of his behavior at some clubs.
BooBoo is just regurgitating Ed's feelings because he has zero experience of his own.
Funny thing is that I'm pretty sure Ed couldn't give a rats ass at this point about any of it. He probably moved on a long time ago.

Some posters already make a habit of posting that Bubba
is a troll, after many of his contributions ! The snag is, that
occasionally Bubba does show some knowledge and good
sense, in among the general dross and anti USCA rants, so
it is a little difficult to write him off entirely. JMO, LOL.

I am not going to be drawn into a slanging match with anyone, as this is not going to be the start of me posting again, certainly not with this Mr Boo Boo Guy who does nothing with his dogs but spout out Crap by the bucketful every time he posts, It seems he reads a lot. Posts a lot, BUT does not know a lot.
Firstly why did you need two Judges per Phase, I have never heard of this before, The USA is not the only country to have two different Camps so to speak? Over here in Belgium we also have two? But the way it worked prior to the rules changing to say we had to compete in the same Trial or Trials in order to be selected for the WUSV.
Before and we still do have the Flemish Side which is the biggest, and the French Speaking side. We had our own selection Trials and the compromise was that three Dogs select from the Flemish Side and Two Dogs from the French Speaking side Wallonia? Then the Rules changed and last year we had selection Trials all competing together ? Result was 4 Dogs from the Flemish Side and 1 Dog from the French speaking side and that Handler with his Dog did very well and held his own and did the Belgium team proud?
We do not get any arguments at all. We always hope the best Team is selected But until the Dogs and Handlers compete no one knows anything, it is on the day that counts. However the real reason for writing this letter is this. We have only one Judge per Phase for the A, another Judge for B and one Judge for phase C, One from the French Side and Two from the Flemish Side but the Judges are strict in there marking and points are not given away like Sweeties? They want the best Dogs and Handlers to go fore wards it is the pride of the Country and the Sport over here that decides that.
So for me it is some what strange that you have two Judges per phase, But what is more interesting is the fact that one dog and handler can be given a score of 78 and 94 for phase C by two Judges, It is not so much the difference in the scoring but for sure the judges were not looking at the same dog and handler it seems, so one judge made an error which one no one will know; The most disturbing bit is that this Dog and Handler got a average score on the Two Judges points? How can that be when the Pass Score for phase C is a minimum of 80 points to pass. Well that is what it will be in the WUSV and everywhere else in the world of IPO, But not the case in the USA it seems, so please tell me what a passing score is for dogs and handlers in the USA Trials. over here it is 70 - 70 - 80, and i believe it should also stand the same in the USA.

I'll say this about booboo, he manages to turn any subject into all about booboo.
My grandfather used to quote all kinds of "words of wisdom", one that comes to mind is "don't wrestle with a pig in the mud, you just get dirty and the pig loves it."
I think most here are like me in that I really enjoy contributions/views from people like Kevin and Wallace, whose opinions are backed up on the end of a leash.

Everyone who sees the indication of unfair play should get very involved politically to change the perceived injustice. That is what we expect from our dogs. Fight the good fight. do not growl. Do not take the fight to another venue.

Bubbabooboo is entitled to his opinions and as far as I can see has NOT resorted to the kind of personal attacks and insults as his opponents.
There was a recent post (not sure if it was on the PDB) about how the UScA judges committee was looking at trial scores to make sure the judging was more consistent. Sorry but 12 and 18 points difference in overall scores is a LONG way from consistent.
The top qualification score was from a WDA member. The best UScA had to offer at the AWDF was almost beat by a Malinois going for his IPO III. The bottom line is there are some nice dogs and great handlers in UScA but the idea that you are better then the GSD's and handlers in the WDA or better then the Malinois in the AWMA is delusional. You want an honest appraisal of your dogs at the next qualification trial? Hire ONE DVG judge instead :-)
Thomas Barriano.

Everyone has an opinion. I look at the comment by clc29 on this page. A person who acknowledges their present circumstance in the breed as a ''up and coming beginner'', gaining ability and knowledge. This thread has many good points like how to minimize judge's influence in a political quagmire. The sniping at individuals and the two organization should be cut out. How should you feel if your rants of negativity hurt the most vunerable people ?
