Not saying a word, just checking for any activity.....

Yeah, the british-ized version of Cathair is Cahir, and that one is on my list. The only thing is...they all need battle names! Cathair (M) for example is a Battle Lord; Cathan (F) is Battler.  The puppies mother is Bellona (a war goddess) and her granma is Alita (Battle Angel). So...you see the trend? Of course, maybe only the one I mean to keep needs a battle name. Maybe someone else wants their dog's name to mean Dark Hair and Eyes. Whatever. Or Mommy's Sweet Sugar Pie. Ew.

No puppies last night, but wow what a miserable night! She was up every 20 minutes to go out and pee (kept feeling like I should be out looking on the ground for puppies) and digging holes in her bedding. Good signs! Another house arrest weekend for me!

"I Calder but she didn't come!" HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!

[groan!]

Re. the looking for puppies when the bitch goes out to pee, I heard about a pup that got squeezed out when the mum went outside to poop. They thought she'd finished whelping.

Naturally, they christed the pup "L'il Shit"!

Don't know if he/she lived up to the name or not!

Okey-dokey...I have a host of Irish/Welsh/Gaelic/Celtic names, with one or two Czech or German names thrown in for good measure! All have something to do with battles. Who knew there were so many??? To start, my family is descended on my maternal grandfather's side (supposedly) from Caracticus also sometimes called Caradoc or Caradog. In Welsh tradition, he was an embattled Chieftan of Wales who resisted the Romans. He was finally betrayed & turned over to the Romans, who took him prisoner & back to Rome, where he earned his life & liberty with an eloquent speech. Hence the family motto,  "Betrayed, Never Conquered."  The name Caradoc/Caradog is repeated many times in Welsh history, but it is unclear if these other Caradocs are descendents or named in honor of, the original.
I'll try to group the rest into catagories....

Meaning  'Little Battles'-----Cadell, Cadel, Caden, Cadan
Battle Prince-Cadfael
Battle King (2nd son of Vortigern) Cadeyrn
Battle Raven- Cadoc
Battle Glory-- Cadogan
Battle Leader-- Cadwalladan, Cadwaladen
Battle Place--Caedmon
Battle Wagon-- Caibre
Mighty Ruler in Battle--Cathair (!), Cathaoir, Cathal, Catheld
Warrior--Cai, Cay
War Chief-- Cerdic, Cedric
Battle--Ceadda
Violent Warrior--Cearbhalla, Cearbhalan (also called 'the hacker')
Little Warrior--Cillian
Red Warrior-- Clancey (anglicized)
Famous Warrior-- Clovis, Cuchuliann (who accidentally killed his son in battle...the son was.....)
Dog Warrior--Conlaoch, Connla
Battle Shirker-- Cadomen
Warrior of Fianna-- Cael
Battle Sword-- Caliburn

Czech--
Battle of Honor--Ctibor, Czcibor

German--
Loud Warrior-- Chlothar

That's all I've got for now! So--any pups to hang them on? jackie harris

Too bad your gonna miss training again. Looks like it will be a beautiful day. Go sit out in your backyard with that whale-dog and get some fresh air, it'll do your lungs good. Soak up that vitamin D.

I came home from four hours of work to find six puppies! I think Bella is still in labor so will provide more details soon--so far, blacks (bi?) and sables, 3 of each gender! Woohoo!
