The more that I read about what PSA is and how it is run I am thinking to myself... why hasn't this been implimented in the SV? It is more challenging, and perhabs this would do away with a lot of poor nerved and weak temperamented dogs that are still getting awarded for poor performence.

NO

No.  How many excellent working dogs have you seen out of "PSA lines?"

Scent work, search and detection, is more and more the essence of the police dog.

Schutzhund sucks more and more, and IPO is worse.

We need a new program, but we should look to the KNPV and the Belgian Ring
for better concepts.

Look to the people who are producing the kind of dogs we want,
the PSA people are mostly just demoing used KNPV dogs.

I really do not think PSA is more challenging than SchH or IPO.

uh no

SV isn't going to do any of that
If they were truly concerned with working quality of the dogs and titles, then the judges would be tougher and perhaps the SV would bring back some of the things they did away with in schutzhund.   thats all it would take.

Brittany, how do know that PSA is more difficult than Schutzhund?

by eddyelevation on 17 February 2013 - 02:02

i agree, don't know why germany and the sv never developed an auxillary program like the knpv or belgian ring........

to keep developing the bloodlines for military and police work only........

The foundation of the SV is Schutzhund.
If you don't want to do Schutzhund, go to another club.

Yes, and by the Pussification of Schutzhund the SV is
clearing the way for the Malinois to become the premire
police dog throughout the world.

This is the most important truth of the German Shepherd
world today, and everybody knows it even if they can not
admit it to themselves.

Mr Engel..the Malinois IS the premier working dog in the world today, be it street work or sport, they dominate it all.
