If you presently buy a gun in MA, each and every time you have to fill out a wriiten form.
It asks if you have, ever had or are being treated for any mental conditions. Also a bunch of other questions.
After they examine the form and if you answered everything correctly the next step is they call in your information to Washington DC (I believe the FBI) They do an instant backround check over the phone, no check no gun.
So it's already in place in MA, for each and every purchase..
Also a resident from MA buying a gun out of state: The gun must be shipped to a registered MA gun dealer, who goes through the above procedure before you can take the gun. So a backround check is also performed on out of state purchases.
Been this way for years here.

The idea is to have the checks for the ammo bought, too. Great idea, I think.

2.78 Million people registered for background checks last month.
THATS JUST ONE MONTH
Your Obama is very good for business 2.78 million guns bought just last month.
So with that said
"THERE WILL BE GUN CONTROL AND BACKGROUND CHECKS COMING TO A REALITY NEAR YOU". Is still a stupid statement.
Do you really think that your Obama is going to have the fortitude to take back 2.78 million guns really. WELFARE AND SSI MAKES PEOPLE STUPID SLAVES.
Buying ammo you have to sign and show ID now. Besides people make their own ammo.
JUST THINK IF I WANT TO BUT A GUN IN NEW YORK I CAN BUY IT OUT OF A TRUNK OF A CAR WITH NO WAITING,REGISTRATION,OR BACKGROUND CHECK GO FIGURE.

Bee,
What do you see as a benefit for backround ammo checks?
To my knowledge there is no way to trace ammo once it's purchased. There are no serial numbers etc.
Up here you have to display a valid license to carry in order to purchase ammo.
Straw puchases are the problem. Just like a 21 yr old who buys a six pack for his 17 yr old friend.

Noone Panic !!!
Dewalts answer to home protection and 2A usurps that doesn't require a registration or license. This nailgun can shoot a 16-D nail through a 2x4 at 200 yards and incase of a home invasion, well, you can NAIL THEIR ASS to the wall. Im not saying it wont kill the perp but they wont get away. You can also help build a friends fence 2 blocks away while sitting in your front lawn. This is truly how you adapt and overcome all BeeTree's proposals ..... so Thanks Dewalt !! LOL
