Well, do female dogs in the same household really come into heat at the same time?

When one comes in, it sure does seem to start a chain reaction  :-)

Not here they don't,

(1) cycles every 4 months

(2)          every 6 or 7 months

(3)          every 9 months

Can't wait for my 12 month old who is yet to have a first season, her mother is the 4 monthly one
and she had her first at 16 months.

A chain reaction happens around here.  One goes then boom everyone is in:)

If their heat cycles are the same (as in, every 6 months, etc.) then yes, they typically will start aligning their cycles.
But, like Dogshome9 says, if they don't have the same heat cycles then they can't match up.  One of my girls is a steady 7 month cycle, so she never is on par with my other girls.

Depends on how close they are kept to one another.

Short answer, yes.
