She is  normally very active and  super happy. for few weeks now she has hard time moving around and she is limping, We do not know what to do.  home cooking, free grain cereals, gets her vit C, Omega 3 and also Flexicose. Any body has an idea what to do to help her.

I think you should bring her in to the vet  for a check up. You don't say if she is limping front or back legs. Her back could be out, soft tissue, torn crutiate... you are lucky to have had her healthy for so long.

I agree with Trailrider. Given her age, a little "creekiness" is not unexpected. But, not just suddenly. A vey can determine whether is is "just" a bit of arthritis that is amenable to drugs that will make her comfortable, or something more serious. Best wishes, a lot of us have "been there." Wonderful that she has such a caring owner.

gladys maybe try another vet. W/o an xray or real experience with chiropractic most vets wouldn't know if its the back. An example: just this last January I brought in my old girl who was 11 and had a history of spodylosis at the vet clinic. My "favorite" vet was out that day and she has been thru chiropractic school, so I opted to see the other vet there. She is very nice, just not as good, but my girl needed help. She was humped up altho not appearing to be in pain (very stoic). I insisted on blood work and a xray. Was told nothing in the xray, blood work (which I ran to the hospitol for analysis stat) came back with only slight elevated white blood cell count. I was sent home with antibiotics and muscle relaxers. Next day she could not walk, brought her back in to my "favorite" vet. She showed me the same xrays and my girl had a blown disc! Long and short we tried hard but she didn't make it. Still hard to talk about at times... so don't just trust the "she's old" crap, if this happened quickly try someone else...

Did the vet check her for lymes disease? I had a male once who all of a sudden had a hard time getting up and was limping, he ended up having lymes disease. He was even up to date on his lymes vaccination, what the vet's don't tell you is the lymes vac is only 70-80% effective, some dogs can still get lymes even though they are vaccinated.

I also have an older 12 year old male, who pinched a nerve in his back this last winter and it affected his back right hip, he was limping really bad, the vet put him on predinose for 2 weeks and it worked wonders. He still limps and has a hard time getting up but the predinose really helped him. He's been on pred 3 times since Jan 09, I put him on it when he starts limping really bad and having really hard time getting up but after only a couple of days on the pred. you can really see a difference. I know I'll probably have to put him down before winter, there's too much snow and ice here, but it's going to be really hard, I've had him all his life.

Good luck with your girl.
