Belle doesn't have any papers, but I can't help wondering what her lines might be. She probably came from Germany. From looking at her, I would hazard a guess at west german working lines mainly, probably a smattering of other working lines. Can anyone enlighten me further, specific kennels have a specific look sometimes. In particular she has quite unusual face markings for a gsd. Some pics: http://i184.photobucket.com/albums/x230/urbanwolfcub/Cox%20and%20Belle/CoxandBelle019.jpg http://i184.photobucket.com/albums/x230/urbanwolfcub/Cox%20and%20Belle/CoxandBelle004.jpg http://i184.photobucket.com/albums/x230/urbanwolfcub/Cox%20and%20Belle/CoxandBelle012.jpg I love her whatever she is, but can't help but be intrigued as to where she came from :D

Well, the Littlest Hobo certainly made many stops!   Kinda looks like it could be his progeny.

She is very beautiful!  With the strong bone and large head she embodies the type of  East German (DDR) lines as well as  lines from the Czech Republic, she may be a mix of both.  The type of markings on her face is also more common in the above bloodlines.

I'm assuming she was a rescue? Does she have a tattoo in either ear?

Hi Skilaki,

She looks like she could be related to my trainer's dog Buck,

http://www.pedigreedatabase.com/gsd/pedigree/489146.html

Check him out,  she is quite the looker, magnificent looking girl

Maybe she has some of his lines in her.

I really don't think so, Red Sable!  The Hobo dogs had a distinctive husky-like mask. Any GSD breeder would have faulted them for not having enough black on the muzzle.

BTW, I've changed the links to clickable form. The OP can do the same by selecting the chain link icon in the post edit screen:

Well, now that I have gotten a very good look at her, she looks East German to me. She has a somewhat unique shape to her ears and no stop on her head. She looks petite (hard to tell with only a picture) and really has nice bone, thick legs.  I really do believe that someone may be able to home in on her origins.

How did you acquire her?  How old is she? Height and weight?  Any tatoos?  Microchip?

She looks very similar to a good friends new dog.

Good luck with her, she is a beauty.

Michele

It's been years since I've seen that show, and that comment was totally tongue in cheek. There had been 73 views and no posts, so I was just trying to get the ball rolling. ;)

There is nothing unique or distinctive about the dog except she lacks a real stop in her head and has a masculine head. Her mask is not unique at all and I have a female here who is a mix of West German working and show lines whose face is marked so. In my opinion, your dog is probably from West German working lines. Her structure is decent. What matters most is that you love the dog and provide her a forever home.

Good luck with her.
