Only 1 dog out of the average GSD litter size of 4 will later be diagnosed with HD1 (a1) = free from Canine Hip Dysplasia. Why would you think you of all people would have a possibility to buy this particular dog, when breeders keep those seldom specimen in their own hands?

In less than 3 decades, the respective National Breed Wardens of the SV Kennel Club have completely ruined the best Shepherd Dog breed in the world and there is very little to save. Max would cry his eyes out!

Even when we check the crème de la crème of the GSD business, we find devastating results.
Quote from my work:
“Let us take a look at the numbers of 15 former Siegers (= world champions), 5 top class males of the working dogs branch and compare them along with the 8 VA’s of 2007 (today at the end of 2008, comprising 2 world champions already!)”

You will discover furthermore how a comparison with other shepherd breeds is made, and be able to enjoy a lot of pictures and footage of our beloved ‘trotter’.

Please feel welcome to read all about it in my last Paper: “HD1-hips and Miscellaneous in the SV Kennel Club. As close to the truth as one can get!”, published on:

Enjoy!

Jantie, you are truly a light in the darkness!  You have confirmed what I have felt all along about the changes to this breed over the last 3 decades.

Thank you from the bottom of my heart!

Unfortunately, after reading your article that heart is more than a little

Oh, please.  Yes, there are people breeding crappy shepherds, but I have a German show line that would make Max PROUD - he's sound, he's beautiful, and yes, I'm training him for his titles.  What's more, in my club alone I can look around and see SchH III show lines, and I can see SchH III working lines - various lines of GSD belonging to different people, and they're sound and brave and strong and loyal and great companions and watchdogs as well as sport dogs.  So bull**** on Capt. Max spinning in his grave.  Sure, there are lousy dogs out there but if he could only see the GOOD ones out there today he would be bursting with pride about his beloved breed.

Max has been rolling in his grave for so long his corpse probably looks like a polished jewel.

LOL, LOL... it's they way they all refer to him as "Max" that tickles me... like he was someone they really knew and it's all done with such sincerity and conviction... everybody KNOWS what "Max" would have said, done, changed. LOL
