Well said, Blitz.

Somehow, I would have known you'd feel that way, Blitzen.  So...we look foolish to take an emotional view on the subject.  So....we value and equate dogs differently from some of our countrymen. So, so, so...what do we know? (LOL)

Two Moons----I will reply to your question "Would you go to war over them?" thusly, in a round-about-way.....and keep it primarily to the dogs since you feel the 'man's head' is a bit much. If I saw a dog about to be butchered, I'd attack the butcher.......armed with the frying pan he was about to saute those paws in.  Is that 'going to war', Two Moons? Better in my book than doing nothing, and watching others order up seconds.

In America I too might get involved, it is not acceptable to me.   But in his country you would be wrong, he would defend himself and someone would end up dead.   Anytime things get physical death is a possibility.   If it was a human in any country it would be right to protect human life.  I've seen enough war LMH, nobody really wins.  America doesnt go to war over human rights or to save lives, only strategic interests, Lee Hamilton said that to me in person once.

Actually, it's my understanding,  Hindu  do not look at cows the way we look at dogs.  There seems to be a little lost in translation,  western world definition of "sacred" is different than those that practice the Hindu religion.  Here is one description:

http://www.hindunet.org/srh_home/1997_5/0033.html

The dog is almost universally held in high esteem and given a place at the hearth.  I guess I will just have to live with the fact that for me, it's a line I will not cross, nor will I sit back & watch others do it with a smile plastered on my face so as not to offend.  I recognize this as my own issues, but it's just too deeply ingrained, better I just not travel to areas where dog is eaten.

Two Moons

I have feed now and miles to go before I sleep,

I just want to say, the chinese do not treat most of they're people much better than they do they're dogs and yet we do business with them.  We buy this crap at places like walmart.  Hell I cant even find car parts anymore that arent made in china.    I have no real answer except its all about power, greed and money.

I gotta go.

Two Moons---I see where you're coming from and realize you're at a weary stage of life, perhaps ready for an isolationist's point of view, along with a no-one-wins attitude.  Sometimes people fight.....sometimes they need a break.  War is another topic.  Your last post was about apples.  I kind of view my anti-dog-entre posts as being more about oranges (the ones that probably seasoned those paws).  My post will go nowhere.....other than relieve some of my frustration. Likewise, what would it say of me....if seeing that photo and feeling as I do......voiced no concern?

Disgusting and sad, yes.

But, let us remember, it's almost whale hunting season again for Japan, Norway, Iceland, Denmark, the native people of Chukotka (Russia), the Alaskan Inuits, some of the Caribbean islands, the Faroe Islands, Indonesia and the Philippines, and yes, thousands of dolphins and porpoises are being caught right along with them.

Seeing a plate of dog's feet is just another reminder of what an uncivilized world we live in. At least they're not serving a plate of  Mountain Gorilla paws, not enough left of those anymore.
